Indiana Jones. I liked Star Wars okay as a kid but Indiana Jones helped inspire my love of history. Temple of Doom was a slight misstep as I tired easily of Willie and the over the top pointless gross out scenes like the dining room sequence. The history of the Thugees could have been discussed in a better and more sinister way than having Willie passing out over eyeball soup and monkey brains.
1. Last Crusade 2. Raiders 3. Empire 4. Star Wars 5. Temple 6. Jedi

Raiders of the Lost Ark is the best movie out of any of them, but in terms of the whole trilogy, I'm choosing the Star Wars films.

Much as I respect the original Star Wars trilogy, the Indy movies are more my thing. Spielberg made some golden movies back in the 80s and I like Harrison Ford in the lead role. I do favour The Empire Strikes Back over Last Crusade, however.
My rankings:
1. Temple of Doom 2. Raiders of the Lost Ark 3. The Empire Strikes Back 4. The Last Crusade 5. A New Hope / Return of the Jedi (tie) - RotJ has a stronger final act

Star Wars because more cohesive trilogy arc. Indy was essentially 3 singular, albeit connected, installments. I do think having Temple as a prequel took the routine out of that - especially since Lucas wanted darkness for the 2nd of 3 films... which is odd because it all took place prior to Raiders dramatically. 1. Star Wars 2. Raiders 3. Empire 4. Temple 5. Jedi 6. Crusade That pretty much washes up fairly balanced in favour of my SW Electoral College.

Indiana Jones for me. I like Star Wars OT but the Indy movies are just more fun to rewatch because the story is simple and effective. 1 man on an adventure in the real world. With SW you have a lot of world building, characters, relationships, terminology to take in, which unless you are a big SW fan can be difficult to fully absorb.
My fav Indy used to be ToD, but now it's Last Crusade. The finale from when they enter into the canyon of the crescent moon where he captures the grail to the ending where they literally ride off into the sunset is an ending that very few movies can replicate in feeling.

Easily Star Wars. I never get tired of the original trilogy.

I do think having Temple as a prequel took the routine out of that - especially since Lucas wanted darkness for the 2nd of 3 films... which is odd because it all took place prior to Raiders dramatically. I would add that Indy films are for that reason easier to re-watch singularly. I still can't watch Empire without watching Star Wars prior & Jedi soon after. Not the case with Indy's less cohesive trilogy. That's why I may have more viewings of Temple & Crusade, on their own, as the years pass.

Let's just pretend Crystal Skull never happened, which do you prefer? I never liked either one.

1. Last Crusade 2. Raiders of the Lost Ark 3. Empire Strikes Back 4. Return of the Jedi 5. Temple of Doom 6. Star Wars
Jedi is close to overtaking Empire in my head tho...i absolutely love the fight between Vader and Luke at the end. My favorite fight of the whole franchise.
I still generally prefer the Indy movies tho...and Crusade was always my fave of them.

I'd have to pick Dr.Jones over Captain Solo. Not even a hard choice, though I do enjoy Star wars.
