Well I hope to one day find a movie that will make me feel bummed, one I haven't seen, but sadly they're very hard to find.

Somebody already suggested it, but I would like to echo The Plague Dogs if you don't mind animated films. To go even further, why not watch some WWII film like Grave of the Fireflies, Barefoot Gen, and In This Corner of the World?
