I love how these "old" movies - even the cheaper ones - have such convincingly otherworldly atmospheres. Very few modern movies, even with all their fancy CGI-enhanced sets and creatures, manage to live up to it. I have to disagree while I have respect and fondness for the original clash of the titans the monsters in the remake especially the new Kraken in the remake is slightly better than the original version. The Kraken is the only bad part about this movie. Pretty silly looking. The remake did it better, although the CGI hasn’t aged super well.

The remake has so many bad decisions. The very first one is the shot of the Zeus eagle flying up that giant tower with statues in it. Why? Why would that even exist? In the original, the statues of favorite mortals was like a little hobby room. Why would an eagle version of Zeus be flying up and down such a structure looking at statues? It makes as much sense as a human version of Zeus sitting around watching a million eagle eggs.
The introduction of Pegasus was bad. Why have the horses land in a forest-why not out on a meadow somewhere? And why did the others disappear so fast--could it have been to save on CGI costs?
What the hell was the point of the Bubo in a clothes chest? If it was meant as a lame joke at the expense of the original, couldn't they have thought of a less lame way of showing it?
I liked the glowing eye desert Magi guy but the super ginormous scorpions were stupid as was the Medusa scene compared to the original.

More scarier than the original version.
