More and more directors seem to leaving the theatrical model for Netflix. Whats a director to do when movie studios refuse to greenlight their projects?.

More and more directors seem to leaving the theatrical model for Netflix. Right now it makes more sense. An interesting variable no ones brought up is what happens when streaming studios go the way of regular movie studios and start having trouble justifying 200 million dollar budgets for movies. Studios like Netflix basically throwing out cash can't be sustained forever, especially viewership numbers and cost will be an inevitable figure, so then what happens? do movies like The Two Popes or Dolemite is my name, not get made?.

Given the pandemic stuff going on and the theaters being greatly impacted, you have to go where the work is which is elsewhere like TV and Netflix.

Cinemas are toast. I dont see how they will be revived once vaccines are available.

Just need entrepreneurs outside of Los Angeles and New York and movie quality would amazingly improve. Need more creative freedom and respect for audiences which you don't get with any of these corporations, Blumhouse included. Blumhouse needs a James L Nicholson type.
