What a sweet, precious movie this one is. I am a hardboiled sucker for unabashed sentiment and this movie has just that.
Bette Davis' character is one of my favorites. She's so good and not at all unrealistically so. The arc of the Charlotte Vale character is wonderful. When she decides to befriend the unhappy Tina, explaining very gently that in order for the young girl to be liked by others, Tina will need to start liking people. Such intelligence presented so sweetly. I just love their little friendship.
The movie is a tearjerker in the very best sense of the term.
Who else likes this movie?

Good movie.
I don't remember much about it though, besides Bette Davis's performance.

It's quite good. Helped to make me reevaluate my thoughts on Bette Davis. I used to be indifferent to her but now between that and Baby Jane, I'm far more interested in her movies.

She is my favorite actress and arguably the most talented actress who has ever lived imo. I am naturally curious as to what movies you saw that made you previously indifferent to her as an actress.

Well that was it. For a while, I really didn't seek out movies with her deliberately;she just wasn't on my radar. I think Now, Voyager was only the third movie I saw her in at the time. Then the Feud miniseries came out and afterwards, I sought out more of her work. Just in the last two years, I saw nine or ten of her movies.

You have only scratched the surface of her greatness.
