Christian Cageside : Canadian Dynamite
"It all happened really quick. I wasn’t sure how it was gonna go after. All the talks that I had were very cordial [with WWE]. I’m good friends with you, I’m good friends with your husband, Jon [Moxley], he talked to me and had his opinions and stuff like that ...
... It made me kind of think, ‘Okay, maybe I am doing myself a disservice if I don’t at least explore all my options at this final stage of my career.’ I ended up having a conversation with Tony [Khan] and it escalated very quickly and went very fast. Within a week it was a done deal.”

His two biggest opponents could probably be Chris Jericho and Cody Rhodes. A feud with Chris Jericho could be on the cards, a bit like when Matt Hardy arrived at AEW to set Jericho on the straight and narrow. It didn't work out that way and now Hardy's sold his soul. With Big Show arriving at the same time, I don't know what might happen on the card. Christian's had major issues with all these guys at one time or another. I remember Big Show saying he enjoyed punishing Christian because he's such an insect.

^ Yeah, maybe Big Show would like to relive those words he had for Christian, since his debut is catching attention much like his own. He really has reason to try and take him down a notch now, and treat him like the insect he thought of him as back in WWE.

Yeh, Big Show really hated Christian back in the day, he seethed with contempt every time he saw him enter the ring. I remember when Show was epic feuding with Alberto Del Rio and then they both started beating up on Christian. In commentary, I recall JBL never had a good word to say about Christian. I guess he's as good at making friends as Jericho lol.
Big Show can't get it done
Do you think Vince McMahon will punish these guys by making sure they don't go into the WWE Hall of Fame as individual competitors any time soon? I can see it happening.
WWE Hall of Fame is calling ...

^ They won't be in the HOF until they come back to WWE one day. If that ever happens, then they'll go in like Kurt Angle did most likely.

As divisive as he's been throughout his career, I think he's a good wrestler. I'd rank him as one of the great technical wrestlers of the modern era.

Christian Cage becomes Impact Champion at the age of 47!
"I had been asked so many times over the years if I was ever going to come back and the answer was no because that was the legit answer. When Edge came back at the Royal Rumble last year, even though we had different injuries, it put a seed in my brain that this might happen. I was doing other things at the time that were keeping me busy. As we got into the pandemic, I was not in the best shape physically. I wasn't in bad shape by any means, but I was happily living a retired life. When I got a call to do the unsanctioned match with Randy Orton, I felt good. I didn't feel like I was fragile and needed to be careful with every movement. When it was announced that I was going to be wrestling, people were legitimately interested to see if I was going to wrestle. In a sense, I felt like I let them down because it wasn’t a real match. We had to be careful because I was on the no-contact list. I went on my own to get the testing to see where I was at. I kept it very close to the vest. I went down to the University of South Florida for their concussion testing and sat down with the doctor. He said, 'You did great on these scores. You were at or above average on everything. Your physical tests were great.' I told him if there was a chance to get back in the ring and close out my career on my own terms, I wanted to do it. He said I could do it if I wanted to, so it went from there. I decided I had to start putting the work in and come back the right way. I hired a nutrition company, and I was dedicated to getting in the best shape I could be at 47 years old. I went to the gym a couple of times, but I couldn’t concentrate because I was so paranoid about people getting close to me or touching me. I built a small gym in my garage, and it was the best thing I ever did. I started grinding away and putting in the work in solitude. I brought it to the attention of WWE in the fall and they said they wanted to keep it kind of quiet. They sent me to the medical center in Pittsburgh and put me through a workout in the gym. It was very thorough. The doctor said the same thing as the doctor down in Florida. It put me in a great headspace from there to keep pushing forward."
