Yes. It has some comic moments but it is not a comedy.

It has some homophobic undertones but it was a decent movie.

It also helped set the pattern for other sad and depressing movies that were to come throughout the early 70s.

it is sad. I've only seen it once because it is disturbing to me.

It's one of my top ten favorite movies. Joe Buck is probably my favorite male movie character ever. It is a sad movie, yes.

Was I the only person on Earth who didn't like it? Same with Dog Day Afternoon.

Was I the only person on Earth who didn't like it? Same with Dog Day Afternoon. I wouldn't say they're "bad" films, but neither one really "grabbed" me as much as they obviously did a lot of others. Though I'm probably not as enamoured with 70s American cinema in general as a lot people.

It has some homophobic undertones but it was a decent movie. It's an attack on all the aspects surrounding the really seedy shitty New York at the time.
The hippie party reminded me of the scene from Jacob's Ladder.

It’s an alternative buddy movie and is very sad. I’ve always hoped Joe Buck found some peace in Florida. Jon Voight is an amazing actor.

This is actually the real Warhol’s Factory.

Was I the only person on Earth who didn't like it? Same with Dog Day Afternoon. John Wayne didn’t like it much but at least he won the Oscar.

Although the ending of Dog Day Afternoon is a downer it was a great audience experience when I saw it at the cinema, especially during the scenes where Pacino interacts with the crowd outside the bank.

Maybe it was my dislike of Pacino during that era of his career, but I just wanted to smack him.
