Fahrenheit 451 mixed with 1984. If the schools stop teaching it how many kids and future adults will decide to just pick up Twain, et al, for their reading pleasure? if you aren't exposed to it in a classroom environment i'd argue that with exceptions (i'm an example of this) you probably won't read it later on. We never read much Twain in school but I read it on my own and benefited from the experience, but i'd guess i'm an anomaly. It saddens me that kids won't have that exposure due to made up terms like "systemic racism".
