Schilling is closest at 71%. Bond & Clemens look like they won't get in since it will be their last year. I am surprised at the low % for Vizquel.

Buehrle at 11% was the highest first timer. Tim Hudson hanging by a thread. Zito with 1 vote.

There are 212 people who voted for Scott Rolen. 212 people who watched him play, looked at his stats, and said “Scott Rolen deserves to be inducted into the same institution as Willie Mays, Sandy Koufax, Hank Aaron, and Babe Ruth.”
Do they watch the same fucking game?
The Hall of Fame used to mean something. Now it’s just turning into an all-star game where Lloyd McClendon will get in some day.

Story came out this year that he had been accused of domestic abuse by his wife. Jayson Stark said that if you looked at Ballot Tracker and when that story came out, his vote percentage went down sharply from that point on.

Ten players in MLB history have added fifty or more writers votes for enshrinement in back-to-back years. All ten of them made the Hall (most recently Larry Walker, Tim Raines, and Barry Larkin). Rolen is the 11th.

Buehrle at 11% was the highest first timer. Tim Hudson hanging by a thread. Zito with 1 vote. LaTroy Hawkins got 2 votes...... For the Hall of Fame..... Two members of the media actually voted for that guy to make the Hall of Fame? Curt Schilling is 150% right on this one, this entire process is a total joke right now. I would love to hear anyone on this forum make an intelligent case for LaTroy Hawkins even being considered for induction into the Hall of Fame. I'll be waiting.....

I wish they didn’t disclose the votes. You either made it or you didn’t. I don’t need to know that 5 people or whatever didn’t vote for Hank Aaron. I don’t need to know that Dan Haren got zero votes. I could have told you that without looking. I think the voters knowing the percentages affects how they vote - see players like Blyleven, Raines, and Rolen.

When you get the results for the New York State bar exam, they just tell you if you passed, you don't get your score. However, if you fail, you get your exact score. That has to be the most disheartening shit ever. You study your nuts off, take a grueling, 2-day test and find out you failed by a point or two. At least, that's how it was back in '06 when I took it. Good thing I passed!
