I wonder if Disney will respond to this? Buy more empty theater seats for Black Widow.

And that means that millions of people will just download it from Pirate Bay on the day of release.
It'll lose out on a lot of money unfortunately but nothing they can do about that.

Such an expensive movie will never become a success through streaming.

I wonder if Disney will respond to this? they have 70+ million customers already, they are fine Disney added additional $30 price tag on Mulan on top of the subscription fee required to watch it. WB put Wonder Woman 1984 on their streaming service without a additional cost. This is a cock slap to Disney face.

I don't have HBOMax, it's not even available in my country yet, and theaters will likely remain closed until March, so unless they also release it on physical media, I won't be able to watch it.

Since I already have HBO Max im excited for this. Wish more movies would have gone this route or a digital release during 2020. At this point its a pipe dream for a movie like this to wait for a theatrical release (in the US anyways) in order to get that money unless they waited til 2022. Disney should do the same with Black Widow but I imagine the Mulan experience will prevent them from doing so.

I called this. I said studios would eventually give in and release to streaming. I don't want to say I told you so, but yes I do. I told you so.

"Wish more movies would have gone this route or a digital release during 2020"
And then? Will only be huge financial catastrophes for the studios.

"Wish more movies would have gone this route or a digital release during 2020" And then? Will only be huge financial catastrophes for the studios. And then hopefully things are back to normal by 2022. However to think that they were going to get a full blown blockbuster release out of it in theaters while other studios are planning the same thing imo is delusional. They were gonna get hit hard on the financial side of these films anyway. So im happy they're just biting the bullet and saying they're tired of waiting.

This seems like a move by AT&T to try and get more subscribers for HBO Max.

Don't have HBOMax where I'm at. Guess that means I won't get to watch this till spring at the earliest.
