Black pepper
I used to put Russian or Thousand Island dressing on it.
Also nice mixed with fresh fruit.
It's too bad it's so high in sodium because it tastes so good.

fresh ground. Have one of those little tabletop grinders you twist. I also like cc with peaches, pineapple or raisins in it.

The only thing I eat cottage cheese in is lasagna, and that's after running it through the food processor.

The only thing I eat cottage cheese in is lasagna, and that's after running it through the food processor. I use it in lasagna because there is no ricotta to be found ... use it just out of the carton tho' ..why the processor ?

That's just the way my mom always made it, one tub of cottage cheese, an egg, a little milk, and about half a shaker of Parmesan. Growing up the way we made lasagna was the only way I knew, it wasn't until a couple years ago a neighbor brought us some with whole cottage cheese in it that I realized they did that.

novastar6I like it with the large curd cottage cheese and only use the parmesan on the top layer. Mom made the BEST spaghetti and lasagna with sausage made in shop by a local Italian butcher who was actually from Italy. I cannot never really duplicate her recipe because of that wonderful sausage !

jelly? anything? expanding catman's topic Yes I put pepper on it. Woke up the other night hungry and had this. So good! I pour some of the juice from the peaches over the cottage cheese.

I put lots of different things on cottage cheese, mostly fruit, but not pepper.
I make a cottage cheese salad with chopped green onion and celery and shredded carrots and radishes that's really good.

CC brings out one of my dietary peculiarities: eaten alone, and not an ingredient in anything I prepare, including salads of any type. But I doubt that you'd find anyone who puts MORE pepper on it than do I...but it must be large curd and NOT be non-fat or low-fat. And, yet, it is the only usage I have for black pepper (don't even have a pepper shaker on the table, and I omit it if it shows up in any recipe). My self-chosen middle name could easily be "Blandness."

It is bland bland! he loves it. I add taco sauce or something. I like flavor. lol
