2021 won't be any better. This plague isn't going anywhere.

Agreed. I'll stay up on December 31st to usher in the New Year....just to make sure 2020 finds its way out.
Within the first quarter of 2021, the vaccine should be available in Canada. I'll probably be really low on the totem pole for a vaccine. What might get me in quicker is that I have asthma. Don't know if that'll be a contributing factor.

I know the new year won't start off well because of certain things from 2020 carrying over like COVID, but I won't automatically consider the new year a bad one because of things carrying over. Hopefully the new year will at least get better as it progresses and end well even though it won't start off well.

It's been a dreadful year. This pandemic has simultaneously turned the world upside down while somehow uniting us unintentionally (well, most of the world, anyway). I have hope that with this vaccine, things will eventually allow humanity to return to something closer to a sense of the normality we once had.
That feels like so long ago.

I don't understand all these people who act like once it's 2021, everything will be back to normal. Dates are just arbitrary markers.

Of course, Toasty. They dress it up these days with a pseudo-scientific term like "pandemic". But it's still an old fashioned plague.

I don't believe covid was designed for release. But I think government is using it to enforce regimentation of the masses. It's a whole sick culture of fear. We'll have to see how this all plays out after the vaccine hopefully gets it under control.

Plagues are bacterial, this is a virus. And people don't get a virus every week or every month. That can only be manmade to do something like that, oh you had it last month, well you got it again, oh you had it 2 weeks ago, well you just got it again, stay home 2 weeks, stay home 4 weeks, soon it'll be stay home for 6 months in between testing periods.

Of course, Toasty. They dress it up these days with a pseudo-scientific term like "pandemic". But it's still an old fashioned plague. A pandemic is a transferable disease that spreads to multiple countries while a plague can refer to the same thing that remains within a limited area (although that is now often referred to as a epidemic). Calling it “pseudoscientific” strikes me as weird as the scientific community has a habit of coming up with new words and phrases.
