I imagine it's hard in a place like New York to stay away from people. And a small crowded grocery store is more dangerous than a big spacious grocery store. I live in a suburb. The aisles at my grocery store are about 4 to 6 feet wide. You are lucky. we USED TO HAVE STRICTER rules but the rules were/are reinforced by the store personnel. PERSONNEL who have too much to lose if a patron goes from calm and normal to insane and violent within seconds without warning. THEIR managers DONT have their backs. and our nearest police station is 2.5 miles from my apartment so there's that nonsense to contend with. now, we have too many people just not caring anymore. Ive been on the subway and i get it, social distancing on subways and busses just cant be done. even before then it is what it is and as long as i am mindful of my space and my things invading other people's spaces. keep calm and carry on. im still the only one wearing a mask despite the warnings of getting ticketed for not wearing one. i hit up some errands tuesday afternoon and i visited a normally good supermarket on the way back [not my closest]. <many of the stores do not have simple, normal floor plans. a lot of the insides have unique aisle arrangements because of the shape of the building itself> HERE is where it gets frustrating. no matter WHAT STORE YOU GO INTO... they all have the regular sized shopping carts. then we have the checking out line next to the deli counter because the building was designed well before covid hit. whenever i go shopping, since i a dont have a car, i take my old lady cart. so i use that as my shopping cart. i dont find it HARD to stay away from people. but its hard when i am the only one who is conscious about the restrictions still going round. its like i am the only one who complies anymore. the BIG supermarket near me has arrows on the floor still, indicating which direction the normal shopping traffic SHOULD flow. again, im the only one who even notices this! now this store is getting dicey because the personnel cant keep up with the influx of NON-NEIGHBORHOOD people who entourage to the store as a normal grocery outing. people cant leave their kids home because they are most likely the only adult within the household. the six feet also means six feet in ALL DIRECTIONS, not just in front of you or behind you. THATS what most people just dont get. How long have you been putting up with this? Have you ever gotten Covid?

I've seen the sharp uptick of people not giving a shit (not kidding) Wednesday, November 4th. People were partying with the news that "the asshole is out of office". Multiple news stories from a local newspaper alone (Sunnyside Post) were made and not reporting it as non opinionated source of pure information. Tauting the people rallying. The very next week we were getting reports of the sharp uptick of covid cases and if our numbers go above 3% school buildings close. That news was Fri, Nov 12. Wed, the 18. We abruptly closed. Can't be a coincidence.

The very next week we were getting reports of the sharp uptick of covid cases and if our numbers go above 3% school buildings close. That news was Fri, Nov 12. Wed, the 18. We abruptly closed. Can't be a coincidence. Well, there you go. Inspite of living in New York City, riding the subway, going to little tight crowded stores around people who won't adhere to the restrictions --- you still haven't gotten sick from Covid. They've never changed these statistics; - Of all the people who are exposed to Covid, half will never contract it. - Of those that do, only half of those will get sick. - Of those that get sick, only 20 percent will have to go to the hospital. - And only 4 percent will die. So, there is a 50 percent chance you can even catch it. You might have natural immunity. There is only a 20 percent chance you will get sick. Half of those that contract it are asymptomatic. There is only a 10 percent chance you will have to be admitted to a hospital. And only a 1 percent chance you will die. Those are pretty good odds. Is it worse than the flu --- absolutely. Is it something we should take seriously --- absolutely. But it ain't killing half the population. Just keep doing what you have been doing, and don't worry about those other people. There will always be idiots. That's the downside of being as cool as you and I are. We gotta put up with people that aren't as smart as we are.
