Ragnarok was a fine 1A Civil War sized cosmic adventure for me.
As for this, they've got to want a big tent ensemble flick to re-energize us masses yes? Besides, some characters like Hawkeye or Spider-Man or whatever may only appear for a few moments.

Was kinda hoping after the treatment Thor got in Endgame that they'd focus more on him in this movie. Giving it an "Avengers cast" does not bode well for my wishes.

Isn't this being directed by the same guy who directed Ragnarok? If so, I have complete faith in him to do right by this franchise.

I loved the first IM movie but was pretty disappointed by IM2 despite being directed by the same gut. Ditto for GOTG and GOTG2. So just because this is being directed by the same guy doesn't necessarily mean it can't fail.

A lot of that can be put down to studio interference, however, and the pressure Favreau was under to lay some groundwork for upcoming first Avengers movie. Assuming Waititi isn't subject to the same kind of pressures (and at this late stage of the game, with the Avengers series essentially over and done with) then I don't see why Thor 4 shouldn't prove to be another success. I like both Guardians movies btw. Think of the original as Star Wars-influenced and the sequel as Star Trek-inspired.

Was hoping since this is Waititi and it's Thor’s movie that he'd get better treatment

Thompson confirmed that the character remains New Asgard's ruler after Thor decided to let her take over (while he headed into outer space alongside the Guardians of the Galaxy). "I can tease that she’s definitely King of New Asgard when we find her," she said. "And as was the case in the last four, I would say that she’s a part of an adventure that involved Thor, in the sense that it’s called 'Thor: Love and Thunder.' And I’d say there’s some cool stuff going on. We have some new characters; we have some folks potentially from other pockets of the MCU." That could be a reference to the Guardians or other familiar faces from the MCU, but Thompson would go on to say, "And then we have some folks, maybe, that we’ve seen before." www.comicbookmovie.com/thor/thor_love_and_thunder/thor-love-and-thunder-star-tessa-thompson-shares-some-intriguing-new-details-about-the-movie-a181043#gs.nv6f17

I'll go with what's actually said in the movie, she's King of Asgard.

To be fair, I don't really understand why they're going for "king". There's nothing wrong with being Queen of Asgard, even Hela had no qualms calling herself that. And Valkyrie was definitely not male, so it just makes things confusing.

I'm honestly not sure if Guardians of the Galaxy members will play a huge role in this. Guess we'll have to wait and see.
