I don't know why, but I've been looking forward to doing this one. Been also curious to see how fans would take to the Leonard Maltin review for it.
I've noticed in recent months here that when some people talk about Casino they say they like it more than highly-regarded Scorsese films like Goodfellas. While I don't know if I'd put Casino above Goodfellas (or other highly-regarded Scorsese films like Taxi Driver and Raging Bull), it's still a solid Scorsese film with memorable performances, robust humor, rich dialogue, and violence that doesn't shy away from being brutal. For me, the movie just does enough differently in comparison to other Scorsese mob movies like Goodfellas to go against the criticism that Scorsese was being derivative and just going over old territory (even though I get why people would say the criticisms that they say). If I see the movie playing on TV, there's a good chance I'll end up tuning in and watching some of it. It feels like one of Scorsese's most purely entertaining movies he has done.
For all those who find Casino superior to Goodfellas, here is a GQ article where then author makes the claim that Casino is better than Goodfellas even though they enjoy Goodfellas:

Get this through your head, you Jedi motherfucker you! One of my favorite movies of the 1990s. I’ve also probably watched more than any other Scorsese movie. It’s him at his most operatic and unforgiving.

A very good film. I like it just as much as Goodfellas, but not as much as something like Taxi Driver.
