Let me start this by saying that I enjoyed GotG2 and laughed quite a bit while watching. That said, I did find the humor... different, different from what most MCU movies are like and that I didn't quite appreciate it as much.
The humor in pretty much every MCU movie is usually witty and done with deadpan delivery, with the characters themselves not finding it funny even though the audience find it hilarious. Examples are like Thor asking for a horse in a petshop, Coulson telling Cap he watched him sleeping, Hulk sucker punching Thor out of nowhere or grabbing Loki and slamming him around.
The only outlier was Dr. Strange, where Strange makes jokes specifically because he's trying to be funny (single-named celebrities for example or Beyonce songs) and his cape making cartoony antics specifically exaggerated to get some laughs.
I feel that GotG2 follows in similar vein just magnified. Whereas in the previous GotG movie, Drax was hilarious in being completely clueless with things around him, here he's specifically laughing at stuff and intentionally jokes on Mantis. The whole "warp jumping" antics of Rocket and Yondu are very cartoony, almost Looney Tooney and is something I've never seen in an MCU movie. Even the opening fight with Groot dancing was a bit cartoony. Starlord has always made a few jokes here and there but in this movie I feel like they upped it a bit as well.
Anyway, it's not a deal breaker by any means, I still enjoyed the movie and I still found a lot of it funny. I just feel like this shouldn't be the direction of humor that MCU should take. I liked their smart, witty humor. I want them to stick to funny, action-adventure movies similar to Indiana Jones. GotG2 almost felt like an all out action-comedy like Get Smart or Central Intelligence or The Mask.

I can't say I agree with you on this one. Guardians is supposed to be quirky comic relief group to let the audience let off some steam in between the heavier films like Winter Soldier, Age of Ultron, and Civil War. I don't think the antics present in this film are the direction the MCU as a whole is going to take, but rather just what Guardians is going to do.

The first GOTG was quirky and I loved it. This 2nd movie however is pretty much slapsticky.

I will remind you again that things are about to take a turn for the worst for the characters with Infinity Wars finally coming only one year away. The MCU is about to get very grim, at least temporarily.

I just prefer their humor stick to being witty instead of crossing over to slapstick. But if you don't agree then I can respect that.

I believe they let Guardians Vol. 2 go as wacky as they did is because things are about to go darker than it has before. I think they're just letting the audience laugh wile they can.

I wouldn't define it as slapstick either. I'm not even sure why you would.

Well the definition of slapstick is "comedy based on deliberately clumsy actions and humorously embarrassing events" - and there was quite a lot of that going on.

Drax getting dragged behind a spaceship and humorously getting slammed into trees repeatedly. Drax's turd and nipple jokes. Rocket and Yondu's cartoony faces when space jumping. Ravagers getting tossed up and down in the jungle by Rocket in almost cartoony fashion. Again don't get me wrong. It's not like these weren't funny scenes. Just that they were slapsticky as opposed to the McU's usual witty humor.

I think that's just Gunn, Slither and Super were somewhat in that vein when it came to their humor, also Gunn sometimes feels like a Raimi protégé.

I just thought it was bad ass, so I didn't know you were referring to that.
I don't consider the turd or nipple jokes to be slapstick either. The nipple joke wasn't done as a joke by Drax anyway. It's something he was serious about that we just find to be funny. The turd joke was done with a little more intentional humor by him.
The cartoony faces I'll give you.
I didn't think the Ravagers getting tossed was particularly slapstick either. I suppose a little, but it didn't hit the level of silly at all. It was just what was happening to them. They all crashed and were hurt badly. Slapstick is usually casualty free.

I loved Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2's humor. It never seemed forced. There were one or two moments of slightly off-time comedic cues.

I never quite get people who love a product but feel the need to call attention to things they don't like. Reviews are weird for that sometimes.
