I'm in, but really it wouldn't matter what it was, I'd be interested in seeing what both of them were doing next.
Not sure I'd necessarily describe him as 'pleasant looking' though.

Joaquin and Ari together...yeah, "surrealist" is probably apt.

Just based on Phoenix's ability to contort and punish himself for the craft, and Aster's ability to make twisted and punishing films, I'd imagine this will be one to see.

I was uncertain about him after Hereditary; I mean, it’s unsettling but I didn’t get into it. But since Midsommar was what I wanted from Ari Aster from the beginning, I am more interested than expected.

Lane recently sat down with Deadline to discuss setting Emmy records, Only Murders in the Building, and his work on Disappointment Blvd. "I think maybe they're aiming for Cannes next year, and I'm told that it may not be called Disappointment Blvd. anymore, that it's going to have a different title. I saw Ari Aster just this last week and what I saw looked pretty interesting funny and scary. It's a unique project. It's like he's invented a whole new genre, and it's all anchored by Joaquin Phoenix, who's just extraordinary."

Don't know what it's about, and don't know why they'd settle on this title, but I'll be interested in anything that Ari Aster does and anything that Joaquin Phoenix does, so I'm certainly interested to see them team up.

Has anyone else seen this? I watched it last weekend and I still don't really know what to think... But i've been thinking about it a lot. There are things in I keep going over and over again in my head, but I'm not sure how well I think it all works... but then again, regardless of my thoughts on some of those sequences, it's all rather memorable and challenging. It's certainly weird, and it's not necessarily especially 'deep' as it were, as a lot of the meaning is right on the surface, but it's still basically not quite like anything I've seen before... even if it's a good deal like a lot of his short films in tone and style and stuff.
I don't know if I'll ever sit down to watch all 3 hours of this movie again in one sitting, but there is some very engaging and engrossing stuff in it despite my immediate feelings on the whole thing as a complete piece, the merits of the parts are undeniable.
