Who? The world is messed up. I'll grant that. There is apparently very bitter contention between the political parties. I think it is mostly like the sitcoms where it's just misunderstandings and everybody laughs at the end. Actual religion and actual science are not in contention. I think both sides are not well prepared by the education system, and as a result spend too much government money, just in different ways. Imagine how bitter they might be when they discover that. It seems to me a "college educated" person would be above the misunderstandings. Actual religion and actual science are not in contention.
Science and religion are very much in contention. What is not is God and science. Religious people tend to confuse the Naked God with the one they dress up in their pet myths, rituals, and magical beliefs. And speaking from 50 years of following the spiritual-scholar path, you’ve no idea what you are talking about as far as education goes. Why must you trash one of the most shining achievements of Western Mankind?

Science and religion are very much in contention. What is not is God and science. Religious people tend to confuse the Naked God with the one they dress up in their pet myths, rituals, and magical beliefs. For people who cannot read above a rudimentary level, religion appears to defy "logic." People who cannot understand even as much as logic often include things that have not been proved as "science." So yes, there is contention. Since those people are not taken seriously in the classroom they take their contention to politics where any idiot is allowed to vote.

Although plenty of people still cannot see what the problem is and turn to politics for solutions, I am not the only person to see what that problem is. Your concept of religion appears to have been formed in an environment devoid of revelation, or at least you have none yourself. In your fifty years have you ever studied the works of Roger Sperry? His dialectic of left brain and right brain aspects of personality has been used effectively in many conversations about the limitations of logic.

I doubt either the boy or the lecturer read a book all the way through in their entire lives. This is what the world is coming to? Three minute videos with ten seconds worth of text that mean nothing? I believe true evil exists based on some very convincing reports brought to me. It is however extremely rare. It is important to note though that there are several balanced forces in society both of which are not evil. For example being "male" is not evil. Neither political party is supposed to be "evil," but too many people consider their political opposition "evil." Thank you for my three minutes. In what objective form does it exist Arlon, or is this just going back to the God exists argument when NO proof need be provided out of convenience and selective reasoning due to subjective belief?

If you saw it you would know. Apparently you will have to see it yourself. You seemed to imply that it exists as a supernatural entity, like God. What we coin as evil behaviour can exist yes, and this could be perceived to be everywhere, but evil in humans, (and only humans are evil and has nothing to do with fantasy), is really only born out of image of self, need for control and ignorant understanding of being. Evil is only Live backwards. That speaks volumes right there.

You have no idea what a concept of religion is much less mine. Not that I have not tried to explain to you. Therefore, I’m done. You’ve broken me. I’ll give you a parting gift: Below is a blank space. You type in whatever it is you think Paul Slaff should believe. You can write whatever you want. You can pretend you converted me to the True Faith and that I burned my college diploma. It’ll be a big feather in your cap over at reddit.
