Another 10- or 20-year break.
As should Star Trek.
Both are on overkill and overload right now.

And, yeah, I do understand about not really feeling certain movies anymore. There have been movies I stopped movies watching in theaters at a point. Didn't watch DC movies after Justice League in theaters. Didn't see the last 2 X-men movies in theaters. Hell, I was done with X-men then saw First Class when it was out of theaters.
I don't think the franchise should take a break. They just need to put the right people in charge. Disney was hoping for another Marvel (and to quickly get what they paid for back). They just forgot to put a Kevin Feige in charge.

Justice League -- I don't blame you. The movie is visually beautiful and Ben Affleck's Batman looks great onscreen, but Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was the beginning of a plethora of problems that Justice League was overwhelmingly unequipped to fix, not the least of which was the ill-advised and ill-executed "Death of Superman" storyline. Aquaman was excellent, though. X-Men -- I haven't been interested in or intrigued by the X-Men since the original 2000s films. I did like The Wolverine and Logan, which I think are two of the best X-Men films ever, probably better than any group X-Men film. Star Wars -- I liked the sequel trilogy, but their appeal is based on the presence of the original trilogy cast. While the new characters were interesting, I don't see how the franchise will continue to succeed on the big screen with completely new actors and new characters. I hope I'm wrong.

The problem is that they don't see Star Wars as a simple thing. It doesn't have to be this galaxy spanning thing that has them going up against an overwhelming government body.

It can if the writing is better and there’s a little more respect shown for the established mythos.
