I watched this last night, hadn't seen it in awhile.
Excellent film, keeps your interest from beginning to end. The two main leads are beyond great. I would say it's Billy Bob Thornton's best work, probably Paxton's as well.
Plus, it's a GREAT snow movie.
Anyone else a fan?

Yep I liked it too. Due for a rewatch, actually.

It is my second favorite Sam Raimi movie, after Spider-Man 2.
Good story-telling and well made. I wish Sam Raimi would do more of these realistic type thrillers.

Yes, I'm a big fan of the book as well
I'd swear the movie was directed by the Coens if I didn't know any better.

Bruce Campbell and Sam Raimi have acted in Coen brothers movies and Sam Raimi directed Crimewave, which was written by the Coen brothers.

I think it's a very good movie. Strong work from Paxton and Thornton.

With a blurb on the paperback by Stephen King, I didn't hesitate to get myself a copy. The movie was good, with the performances of Paxton, Thornton, and Bridget Fonda (as a pregnant Lady Macbeth), but the book has been one of my favorites.

It’s too bad that the movie didn’t get to do the liquor store scene from the book. That would’ve been epic.

Wonderful adaptation of the book! Love how, through circumstance and happenstance, they keep getting deeper and deeper into somethough way beyond their scope of managing. Billy Bob Thorton was really wonderful (and I'm not a fan of his).

I was surprised how much I liked it. In my top 10 for 1998. I like it better than Fargo.

Watched it for the first time about a year ago. I liked it ok, but it’s not up there with Raimi’s best work imo.

I remember enjoying it at the time. Definite Coen vibes, but as mentioned played a little straighter.
