McGwire can't be ahead of Manny. I just glanced over the articles, but Posnarski's main argument is that McGwire admitted to juicing and Manny hasn't. And Manny was "difficult". He didn't seem to be in his first few years with Boston. Yeah, there was incidents but that was a team of "idiots" so he fit right in.
Wouldn't it be nice if these things were based solely on what happens on the field of play, like it really should? Just call me a dreamer.....

Another tie. So really the bottom 3 listed of Juan Gonzalez, Fred Lynn and Rocky Colavito aren't actually in his top 100.

I will take difficulty to gain 900+ more hits, 400+ more RBI, 380+ more runs, and higher OBP and OPS.

I'm just sharing because I think I'm the only one here who subscribes to The Athletic (it really is worth it). This list is better than his Best Baseball Moments.
And, like I said, Jackson, with on field alone, is no lower than #2.

Helton wouldn't bother me. Coors effect? So what. The Packers have had Lambeau effect for decades.

11. Dale Murphy 10. Dwight Evans 9. Pete Rose
As much as I hate him, I would have had Rose in the top 5, top 3 probably.
And, I'm sorry Joe, to think that Dewey Evans was better than Joe Jackson is asinine

A few more to go. Must finish
8. Curt Flood 7. Dick Allen 6. Lou Whitaker
If you use the "If Harold Baines is in..." argument, then yeah.

Too lazy to look up his batting statistics. If memory is right, he hit over .290 and had near 2000 hits. Still a good player when he was driven out of baseball in 1969. Unjustly blamed for the Cards losing the 1968 WS then ruined for challenging the Reserve Clause. He probably had another 5-6 good years in him.

With 5 left, Rose is #9? I thought he would be at least in the top 5.

A-Rod. Does Ortiz count? He will be in the HOF eventually. That would be 4. Carlos Beltran or Adrian Beltre? I don't see them on the list yet, but I don't think they are top 5. I wouldn't pick either over Manny Ramirez. Giambino? Alfonso Soriano? Magglio Ordonez? or someone from the very old days?

Remember the Top 100 Baseball Moments with the end of A league of Their Own ending at #5.
It certainly could be. Check out #5
Scott Rolen
The argument
51 players with a Wins Above Replacement above 70. All but four are in the HOF
Barry Bonds Pete Rose Rafael Palmeiro Scott Rolen

In what universe is Scott Rolen a hall of famer? Today we got rid of one issue in the world, can we put Scott Rolen to bed?
