90 - 81 90. Frank Howard 89. Al Oliver 88. Willie Randolph 87. Lance Berkman 86. Paul Hines (1872-1891) 85. Ron Guidry 84. Wally Berger 83. Dwight Gooden 82. Elston Howard 81. Orel Hershiser I think I liked his 100-91 better.

Hershiser's borderline. 204 wins, 2000+ K's. Postseason monster. If I remember, he had momentum in the HOF voting, but then other guys came up for election, Ripken, Gwynn, and he was forgotten

I love how you cherry pick one stat here and there to make your case. He has other career numbers too.

He has 36 stolen bases for a 21 year career
Oof - I'm expected my speed guys to be my middle infielders and CF
36 stolen bases in 21 years
Oof

Oof yourself. Do you also expect your shortstops to hit over 400 home runs, get over 3,000 hits, win a RoY and 2 MVPs and a ring? Oof.

He could have taken time off for the betterment of the team - i.e. - rest a day here or a day there - but NOOOOOOO - it was all about him and his 'record'
He should have moved to 3B. It hurt the team - your power #s typically come from 1B, 3B, LF, RF and at times C
But Good Ol Cal didn't want to move to 3rd so a speedster could play SS.
A speedster SS who could have helped the Os - who hit for average and got on base and was a threat on the base paths
Know why he didn't want to move to 3rd?
The Hot Corner takes a bigger toll on the body - and in turn would have jeopardized his 'record'
Selfish

You can't antagonize the baseball writers for your entire career and not expect them to take revenge. He might have been the biggest douchebag in baseball history. Dick Allen, who will definitely be on the list, is the same

Stop regurgitating the same old bullshit to support your shaky narrative. I love how you think that he was selfish for staying in the lineup while never getting hurt yet Embiid and Simmons miss months of the season when a fly farts in Ghana. The Orioles sucked most of the time he was there and it certainly wasn’t his fault.

He did move to 3rd in 1996 and then pretty much full time thereafter. Please ruin another thread and leave this one alone.

I think Allen will get in through a veteran’s committee. I think he deserves it. Not sure about Belle. I mean I think he was really good. Dominant even. Did he do it long enough? He probably ends up in Klaw’s hall of very good.

And there's the "If Harold Baines is in..." argument
I agree, Allen will get in sooner or later. The writers that he pissed off are all gone.

If Dick Allen gets in -
Ryan Howard gets in
Allen isn't the greatest 1st baseman in Phils history

You get responses of -

You should get yourself a fact checker before you post anything.
