That's the first name I looked at, too...the Pierson version is the only I've never seen.
What happened to the five-hour games of yesteryear?

That's the first name I looked at, too...the Pierson version is the only I've never seen. What happened to the five-hour games of yesteryear? They are becoming the 5-day contests. Like the one that is coming next. The Pierson one is not so hot -- a Streisand 'look-at-me' piece It did win a best song Oscar But Kristofferson was no match for Babs.

Even though I started late, I think I would have done better had I noticed this phrase in the introduction: What *I* often did was match any previous feature film to a remake of that film.
For example, there may have been many remakes of Of Human Bondage, but there was only ONE ORIGINAL version with an ORIGINAL DIRECTOR.
The same might be said of other multiple-version remakes, i.e. Show Boat; A Star is Born; Little Women, etc. And, the original feature version often went back to the silent era.
------------------------------- As for the BR, I never understood the directions as to what to match with what. I still don't, actually......... But, that is my problem since many others did..

I thought the same for a little time too, it didn't have to be the solution but one of the other two answers plus the solution.
