Out of the roles that one can pick, I guess Sleepers (1996) is probably the one that I remember him most from, but River Wild should really be there as well, and he did a similar psycho-villainous part, in another survival/adventure thriller, back in the 80s, with White Water Summer (1987), along with a younger Sean Astin.
I thought the film was pretty solid, at least in some parts. But it got ruined when it went all Ferris Bueller, wise-cracking voice-over, trying to be cool, instead of focusing on the more suspenseful and dramatic setting, it did far better with, much thanks to Kevin Bacon and his performance.

You forgot River Wild mate. Which is his best villain role you know which shows him holding a family hostage near a river thus him shooting an innocent young sheriff dead in the process, you know that kind of villain. If you can't do these threads properly maybe give it to someone who can, no offence. |

He recently told the ending in a thread about a show that is currently being binged by many people.
