I spaced on Pujols, I probably could have gone with him, but I'm a Will Clark guy, so I'll stick with him. As far as Trout goes, I'm not choosing him at DH over the greatest clutch hitter I've ever seen. I wouldn't know if Trout is clutch because I've never seen him in any kind of meaningful game. You picked Trout at DH over Big Papi? I'm shaking my finger at you, GoodMan..... you may be losing Red Sox fan points for that, buddy.

The numbers he's put up don't lie. And with that lineup around him, he could be truly terrifying.
You put the traitor, Wade Boggs, in there. Sorry, I'll never get this image out of my memory

Whoopsie, you got me on the Boggs choice. Feel free to shake your finger at me. π Seriously though, having mid-80s Wade Boggs in your "ultimate lineup" is not a bad idea. The guy was magical during those prime years.

The guy was magical during those prime years. DEFINITELY something I wish I'd been old enough to witness. I know of him in that time mostly due to video games of my youth, but he was a Yankee in my earliest memories of him. He was still good, but obviously not as good as his Red Sox days. I always liked Mike Greenwall due to using him in video games as a kid too, pretty sure he had VERY similar stats (HR and AVG at least) as Jr Griffrey in 1990.

If you just want power and home runs, sure. I think there's a lot more to baseball than home runs, so I want a lineup that shows greatness at hitting things other than home runs.

Schmidt for sure, the power and the defense. But why Brett? He had his big year, but I'd have thought Boggs had many more seasons of .350 or better, plus won at least one GG, although I'm not sure how good he was in the field. Is it because Boggs has the Green Monster and Brett had more power?

I know, but Boggs is a .328 lifetime hitter, so that's not a plus for Brett. Boggs also has 2 GG to Brett's lone one. I know GG don't tell the whole story though, and I'm not familiar how good of fielders either really were. Fielding played a part in my choices. Brett had 199 more HR though (317 to 118), so power is the major difference between them (and that Boggs had that huge surface to beat balls off of). They struck out at a similar pace (slight edge to Boggs), but Boggs walked a lot more too.
