Baseball Team. It sounds so old-timey that I kinda love it. I've actually really grown to love Football Team for the same reason. Real Cleveland City BC Sporting United

Ah yes, that absolves them from their racist name and logo. And here I thought Native Americans were a completely different ethnicity than African Americans. So the fact that this organization signed the first black player in the American League and had the first black manager in MLB history pales in significance because of the logo? Yes, and it isn't hard to comprehend why.

Yes, and it isn't hard to comprehend why. If a logo is more important to you than Larry Doby or Frank Robinson, then I guess there's no point in discussing the matter any more. If you feel that an organization that broke racial barriers the way the Cleveland Indians had over the years is a "racist organization", there's not much I can do to change your mind. You use racism like normal people use butter, you can find a way to spread it on anything.

We have the Boston Red Sox and the Chicago White Sox.
We have the Cincinnati Reds, how about the Cleveland Whites?

I thought of another one. How about The Cleveland Custodians? I hear Cleveland has some world class janitors, and those Baker Mayfield ads seem to draw this conclusion. And for all intents and purposes, we do need to honor those that keep our floors sparkling clean and our garbage bins restocked with new bags. As an added bonus, they could name their plays things like "broom sweep right", "half back mop up dive" and "bleach blitz". This would be the perfect emblem for the helmets -

You use racism like normal people use butter, you can find a way to spread it on anything. Great use of the, "But I have black friends," argument. They hired black people and continued using a racist logo (of a completely different ethnicity, so what does hiring blacks prove?) for decades afterward. Do you understand racism affects other minorities, not just black people? Of course you don't, who am I kidding. You're the stereotypical out of touch conservative white guy. "Nothing is racist because it was never racist before. Why are people always crying racism these days? Social issues aren't really problems if they don't affect me." The rest of us will be moving on to a better world, you can keep complaining about how in the good old days, nobody spoke out about deeply imbedded cultural problems. And good luck with the aliens.

The rest of us will be moving on to a better world, you can keep complaining about how in the good old days, nobody spoke out about deeply imbedded cultural problems. And good luck with the aliens. Racism doesn't just affect one race? Thanks for enlightening me on that, who knew? I sound like an old white conservative, which is kind of a racist thing to say, btw. As usual, the guy crying racism is the guy who is actually the most racist person in the conversation. Nothing new there. Your stupidity is at an all-time high on this argument, and we are seeing this on two different threads on the topic. A team that actually broke down racial barriers is deemed a "racist organization" because of a logo that was considered pretty harmless for decades. And even though said team is now changing the logo, they are still a "racist organization". And in case anyone else hasn't been given enough examples of your "I'm a progressive who's gonna change your world" bullshit, you actually state that the word Redskin is as awful as the N-word. Maybe the dumbest, and insensitive, thing ever said on this forum. Keep fighting the good fight, Ray Ray. Maybe eventually the world will be the place you think it should be, though basic human nature says probably not. And for the record, once again, I can safely bet everything I've ever owned that I have had more interactions, friendships, and arguments with blacks, Hispanics, Indians, etc than you ever had in your lifetime. But what do I know? I'm just a 50 year old white guy who was taught not to judge anyone based on the color of their skin.

I seriously can’t believe Spiders is leading.
I really hope they don’t actually go with that.
