Horror of Dracula The Curse of Frankenstein Brides of Dracula Dracula, Prince of Darkness The Gorgon Five Million Years to Earth aka Quatermass and the Pit The Devil Rides Out The Hound of the Baskervilles The Mummy She What are some of yours? The Brides of Dracula
The Revenge of Frankenstein
Frankenstein Created Woman
Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed
The Kiss of the Vampire Scream of Fear (not a monster picture, but probably my favorite of all Hammer films) Night Creatures
Scars of Dracula
(Yeah, I know; with a few exceptions, I have some strange choices. If you asked me my favorite Universal horror films, on the other hand, my choices would be much more traditional.) Films that I have yet to watch that may end up on the list: The Gorgon, The Plague of the Zombies, The Reptile, The Witches, Captain Kronos, any of the thrillers (except Scream of Fear), any of the pirate films (except--arguably-- Night Creatures). Hammers that I find particularly overrated: The Horror of Dracula (sorry!), The Mummy, The Hound of the Baskervilles, The Devil Rides Out (great concept--a few good scenes, particularly in the beginning--but mostly lackluster execution), Taste the Blood of Dracula.

The Abominable Snowman and Quatermass And The Pit are two of my favorite Hammer flicks. Both are extremely well written, and while neither has a huge budget,--Snowman looks quite modest--what production values they possess are first rate.

'The Devil Rides Out' & 'Twins of Evil' are my picks.
'Vampire Circus', 'Hands of the Ripper' and 'Gorgon' are sorely underrated.

I'm glad The Gorgon got mentioned. It's one I neglected. Another one that I actually love is Dracula, Prince Of Darkness. I love the scope of this one. It feels almost epic. One that seldom gets discussed except by invidious comparison with other adaptations of the same work, The Phantom Of The Opera, which I saw first run and still have fond feelings for. I think it's easier to accept if one sets aside all other versions of the Gaston Leroux novel and just appreciates it for what it is. It's rather a riff on the novel rather than a straight adaptation, and I take it on those terms. The supporting players are quite good. Heather Sears and Edward de Souza make a handsome, sympathetic couple.

That's not a Hammer film. It's a low budget American indy. (Cushing received $5,000 for two days' work.)

Big fan of The Abominable Snowman, one of the better takes on the Bigfoot/Yeti mythos
Quatermass And The Pit another classic.
One Million Years BC. Amazing movie!
The Devil Rides Out. Silly fun.
She. Loved this one.
And of course in the modern era, The Woman in Black.

Glad others like the Abominable Snowman.
Phantom of the Opera (despite misgivings, like for Lom, Gough and Troughton Night Creatures Kiss of the Vampire Rasputin the Mad Monk The Reptile Plague of the Zombies Frankenstein Created Woman Quatermass and the Pit Dracula Has Risen From the Grave The Lost Continent Taste the Blood of Dracula Dr. Jekyll and Sister Hyde Hands of the Ripper Twins of Evil Legend of the Seven Golden Vampires
The only Hammer film I consider a total dud is the Old Dark House. Tom Poston is not a leading man.
