Link (in French):
After a series of articles in the Danish press about the horrible workers' (and indeed human) rights abuses in the construction of the stadiums for the Qatar World Cup, a politician called for a boycott. Supporters of the largest clubs started a petition, and if it gets 50000 signatures the matter will have to be discussed in parliament.
I imagine that if it happens, other countries will follow suit.
I am conflicted. On one hand I am a big fan of the big international events and it would be a shame if a significant number of important footballing nations were not there, but on the other hand it would serve the bucking fastards right if their downright criminal treatment of foreign workers were punished in a substantive way.

Make it so.
Scotland had already announced they won't be turning up.

So did San Marino, Malta and Lesotho!

I doubt anybody really care if Denmark boycotts it, it would be a bigger deal if it was a country like Germany or Brazil boycotting it.
But Qatar should never have gotten the world cup.

Apart from the human rights, a winter World Cup with some really stupid time difference kick-offs around the world - screw it and screw FIFA.

Said it before, say it again :
Apart from money and corruption, who else in their right mind would chose a backward Islamic theocracy known for its human rights abuses that is on average 50 degrees C in August and has Zero infrastructure and experience in hosting world class events over a secular democracy with a stable economy known for its laidback lifestyle which has never once failed to produce excellence when hosting anything.
Likewise, I can’t imagine anyone, of sound mind, if given the choice, would willingly choose Qatar over Australia as a destination.....

Already the one in Russia should have been under boycott.
So yes, let us follow suit.

Someone should really take a stand but would probably face massive retaliation from FIFA.

Someone should really take a stand but would probably face massive retaliation from FIFA. That is a very good point. FIFA wouldn't let it slide.

Australia? Hmmm, I don't know, doesn't the ball spin the other way around over there?

Should have gone to Australia but as we know, the best case rarely wins these things. It's all about backhanders, new markets and broadcast deals. The time difference always factors against Australia also.
