Have you ever wondered why we put angels on the top of Christmas trees? Well, wonder no more...
One year many moons ago, Santa was having a bad season. His elves were loafing, one of the runners on his sleigh was broken, six of his reindeer called in sick, everything was behind schedule and Santa was not pleased. Then this little angel walked up to him, carrying a Christmas tree, and asked, "Santa? What should I do with this tree?"
And so the tradition began and angels have adorned the tops of many Christmas trees ever since.

Oh, I don't think Sister Rita Joseph, the Mother Superior where I went to school, would approve. ::no::

Love it! As you can see he also decimated the tinsel and decorations. That was an entertaining Christmas.

We had a cat back when we were first married who used to take flying leaps at the Christmas tree, landing somewhere in the middle, and then knocking it over. I finally put o-bolts in the baseboard, and tied the tree to them so it couldn't be knocked down. What a mess!! Did yours eat the tinsel? Ours did, so we stopped getting it. We don't get live trees anymore.

It was just hanging out their butt. That's when we stopped getting it. So lucky it didn't cause a bowel obstruction! Ah, the joys of pet ownership!!

In Norway its more normal to put a star on the top of the Christmas Tree. When I was a kid, we always had an angel. We, being very young, called him Hark, as in Hark, the Herald Angel. We've always had angel toppers. Mine died this year, and I couldn't find another angel I liked, so we got a star. It looks very pretty!
