Snitches for the police state. That's how the Soviets kept control. Everyone snitched on their neighbors.
You know what happens to snitches in prison? You don't wanna know.

Yeah and I bet the police asked people to stop reporting others over there too.

I mean they are violations of the laws if they break the rules a government established. But not every violation of law is supposed to be reported to 911. That's for emergencies. I mean I wouldn't even call 911 if my car was stolen (unless I saw it happening that second). I'd call a non emergency number.

Why call police over consensual activities (house parties, hosting visitors at a private residence) when the caller isn't even the one being put at risk if they're a neighbour? I understand the potential threat to one's own health by lack of social distancing, but if they're in a public place can't they just walk somewhere without people within 6 feet?

That’s why we have 101 over here but people still call 999 for non-emergencies. When I slashed through my finger back in the 1980s my housemates wanted to call an ambulance but I said I’d rather walk to the hospital than waste their time.

The rest of the world is shutting us out so perhaps not. i thought that was because of your more contagious mutant strain Yeah, I wonder how that happened. An office party in a Chinese biochemistry lab perhaps. Our cases have increased too which also led to the higher restrictions but I guess that’s just Boris doing his best to fuck up Brexit.

My sister's son is a lawyer who has been working from home for months. His wife is a stay-at-home-mother with their toddler. They observe all the mask and sanitizer rules. They’re visiting my sister over the holidays and one neighbour has said she might call the police to report them.
Yeah, that’s where we are in 2020.

My boyfriend is gonna take me home to meet his mom for the first time. One good thing about this is that my wretched mother is not visiting me.

Yeah and I bet the police asked people to stop reporting others over there too. Yeah, some old busybody lady kept calling and annoying the KGB so they told her to mind her own business and chill.

Yeah well our Christmas has been fucked up due to those freedom loving mouth breathers so thanks a fucking bunch to all the rule breaking party people out there. The OP is not saying people shouldn't practice social distancing and take precautions. Both she and British Columbia police are just saying don't get hysterical and tie up emergency lines because some fool down the street isn't wearing a mask.

Both she and British Columbia police are just saying don't get hysterical and tie up emergency lines because some fool down the street isn't wearing a mask. And also questioned whether the people were actually committing a crime. “the government kinda asked for this...is this admitting that those aren't real crimes? lmao” Am I right?

I understand the potential threat to one's own health by lack of social distancing, but if they're in a public place can't they just walk somewhere without people within 6 feet? All of those big house parties and big gatherings at bars where people are drinking and dancing are consensual activities. So what? Once they leave their consensual big gathering, they've potentially contracted the virus and/or exposed others to it, where they (or others) then pick it up and bring it home and spread it to others, their friends and family within their home. If anyone in that family happens to be a frontline worker, now THEY are put at higher risk and so are the people they then come in contact with, all because of that selfish "consensual big party" someone just had to go to. I will never understand such selfish thoughtlessness. It doesn't just affect those "consensually gathered." Why are there still people who don't understand that?
