Don't snitches get a special prize?
All kidding aside:
Wow. Just...just...just.......wow.
Shocked, but....can't say as I'm really surprised.
I know back in the summer, in London, ON, there was a 'snitch' line for those not following guidelines. Don't know what ever became of that, though.

The OP is not saying people shouldn't practice social distancing and take precautions. Both she and British Columbia police are just saying don't get hysterical and tie up emergency lines because some fool down the street isn't wearing a mask. And also questioned whether the people were actually committing a crime. “the government kinda asked for this...is this admitting that those aren't real crimes? lmao” Am I right? Well I'd rather walk past a maskless person than get raped. I'm just funny like that.

I don't know what you don't understand about the fact that the police are telling people not to report someone walking down the street without a mask. They will not arrest them and they will not be charged with a crime. Cops have more important things to worry about.

Perhaps my bit about not calling 999 for a cut finger was too vague. Do you think these “snitches” will get shivved in the communal showers at the local leisure centre for grassing up their next door neighbours?

You exonerated the snitches because of those "freedom loving mouth breathers", did you not?
I'm referring to snitches in general, and I compared the covid snitches to citizen spies in the Soviet Union who sent innocent people to the Gulag. I stand by that analogy.

Oh well, there’s nothing more for me to say on this matter.

The OP implied that something not being an emergency means that it might not be a crime so I reacted against that. The only reason for me wanting to stop replying is because it’s usually best to stop smashing your forehead into a brick wall if the brick wall refuses to budge.

Damn Stamm, you really have gotten cantankerous recently.
Okay, I apologize that I inferred you were saying not wearing mask is a serious crime punishable by arrest and jail time. You did not. You poked fun at those who take it too seriously.
But as someone who has served time in the pen, and spent time in prison for dealing in a harmless drug which is now legal in California, I see snitching as a very cowardly act. As I said, a snitch in prison risks death. It's taken seriously.
So when you referred to the victims of snitching as "freedom loving mouth breathers", I took umbrage at your sarcasm. Snitching itself is a more serious violation of ethical behavior than not wearing a mask. If you have a problem with some fool not wearing a mask, confront the fool and tell him to put a fucking mask on. Don't snitch to the cops. Even they don't consider it worthy of their time.

Just to recap.
98% of rapists never spend a day in jail.
Rapists and murderers were let out of prison so they wouldn't catch Covid, so instead people who don't wear masks can be locked up in their place.

Over here in the UK you just get fined so we haven’t got that far yet. Enforcement measures for failing to comply with this law Premises where face coverings are required should take reasonable steps to promote compliance with the law. The police can take measures if members of the public do not comply with this law without a valid exemption and transport operators can deny access to their public transport services if a passenger is not wearing a face covering, or direct them to wear one or leave a service. If necessary the police and Transport for London (TfL) officers have enforcement powers, including issuing fines of £200 (reduced to £100 if paid within 14 days) for the first offence. Repeat offenders receiving fines on public transport or in an indoor setting will have their fines doubled at each offence. After the first offence there will be no discount. For example, receiving a second fine will amount to £400 and a third fine will be £800, up to a maximum value of £6,400. www.gov.uk/government/publications/face-coverings-when-to-wear-one-and-how-to-make-your-own/face-coverings-when-to-wear-one-and-how-to-make-your-own#:~:text=The%20police%20can%20take%20measures,value%20of%20%C2%A36400.

Snitches for the police state. That's how the Soviets kept control. Everyone snitched on their neighbors.
You know what happens to snitches in prison? You don't wanna know.
They get stitches and some in areas where they may never have expected.

That's a dumb reason to call the police. That's like me calling the police when I see an obese person at a fast food store. Could call them because someone is killing themself.

Strange - I didn't get a notification on my phone - likely because my phone is out of date (iPhone 3 - I think).
I know, I know - iPhone3. Hey - I inherited it from work. There were a few phones that were just going to be recycled. Might as well put one of them to use. Upgrade from my old flip phone.

That’s why we have 101 over here but people still call 999 for non-emergencies. When I slashed through my finger back in the 1980s my housemates wanted to call an ambulance but I said I’d rather walk to the hospital than waste their time. when i was on mirtazapine (extremely sedating antidepressant) it made me faint including at work. my coworker offered to call an ambulance but all i needed was to go home and catch some sleep. I used to have a prescription for Mirtazapine for insomnia. It worked wellfor that, but I also put on a bunch of weight!
