Via the T.O. and Hatch Podcast -
When asked who the greatest receiver of All-Time was Randy Moss states -
'I'll put myself first, I'll put T.O. second, I think Jerry is probably third or fourth'
I agree with in a way; however was the third or fourth comment necessary?
Seemed like a little extra poke and jab there
Do you agree with Randy?

This happened days ago, you're just getting wind of it now? Rice's response on twitter was hilarious.

Jerry Rice has responded -
'If Randy wants to be #1 that's fine....my main thing is it was all about the rings'
I don't agree with this
Rice played on better all around teams than Randy
Randy > Jerry

Oh, and let's get this out of the way. Where do you rank him, Frogs? 500th greatest receiver of all time?

Absolutely no chance.
That you're taking this stance tells us all we need to know.

That's ridiculous -
Just off the top of my head -
Brady LT Barry Sanders Reggie White
Sure is nice when you have Montana and Young throwing to you eh?

Jerry can't hear him too well. He's got ringing in his ears.
Most people's memories of Rice involve making catches that won his team playoff games and superbowls, my main memory of Randy was allowing a defender to take the ball out of his hands in the endzone, costing his team a playoff spot and multiple times giving up on his team. Guy may have had the talent but didn't have the temperament to be better than Rice. Fuck him.

Absolutely no chance. That you're taking this stance tells us all we need to know. Oh I'm sorry - so Rice didn't play with Montana and Young? Rice had two 1000+ yard seasons at age 39 and 40 playing with Rich Gannon. He once had 23 TDs in 12 games, and that was before this pass-happy era. He also had the best work rate of any NFL player possibly in history. His offseason work was legendary even by the standards of modern players. Longevity is a skill like any other. Moss could barely cut it as a decoy a shade before his mid 30s. Larry Fitzgerald, for example, is a WR3 right now. Rice was still a WR1 at his age. Try again, frogs.

Is it really that out of the box thinking that Larry Fitzgerald is/was a better receiver than Rice?
Who did Fitzy have throwing to him during his career?
Josh Rosen, Sam Bradford, Blaine Gabbert, Drew Stanton, Ryan Lindley, John Skelton, Brian Hoyer, Kevin Kolb, Derek Anderson, Max Hall, Matt Leinert, Josh McCown, Shaun King, John Navarre, Jeff Blake, Dave Brown, Kent Graham, Stoney Case
Oof

But in terms of consistency, work ethic, desire, focus, willingness to work within a team concept, etc., it isn't even close. You know where else it isn't close? The stats. Nobody is ever going to do what Rice did, and even those powerhouse Niners teams didn't throw the ball the way they do in today's NFL.

My top 3 order goes:
Rice Fitzgerald Moss
The rest of the top 10 are fairly interchangeable but I think this is clearly the top 3 in this order.

This could be his last season. From Rice's age 37 season on, he amassed 410 catches for 5,283 yards and 33 touchdowns.

With this line of thinking I guess Vince Carter is the greatest to ever play in the NBA

There's a guy by the name of Hopkins that is playing with Fitz now - don't know if you've heard of him
