Our oven died, so I'm having a hard time some days. Found a recipe for Eggplant Parmesan that could be made in the microwave. It was pretty good!

Last November, leading up to Thanksgiving, I bought a small "Butterball," frozen turkey breast. Then, a group of friends gathered for dinner.
In a serious effort to "eat down" the freezer, I thawed it in the fridge, overnight. It's in the oven, now. We'll see what happens.
I'm going to have mashed potatoes, and asparagus, too.
My greatest hope is that it will make some good turkey sandwiches.

I had leftover "shake* stuff I used to make crispy baked chicken days ago, and a cooked potato. Sliced up the potato, put olive oil and the shake stuff on the slices and on a portobello mushroom, and roasted at 425 about 20 minutes.

Yesterday it was kind of cool up here in Toronto. Made "yiouvetsi" with lamb (essentially lamb and orzo). Was good.

I'm not familiar with the name of the dish, but lamb is, by far, my favorite meat. ************** To the question ... I'm going to broil a piece of salmon, and indulge in a steamed artichoke, which is my favorite veggie.

Another steamed 'choke, and and a broiled part of "London Broil," that I cut from the larger Top-Round, and froze.
On Sunday, I usually like to do something that will lead to some leftovers, for Monday ... and, maybe beyond. But, I'm going to a neighbor's house tomorrow. She's making chili, and I'm going to take cornbread. I have some corn on-the-cob, and will put some kernels in it, which I've never done. (In fact, I've only used the little "Jiffy" mix, the 2-3 times I've ever made cornbread.) I hope this'll be fun.

The two major chains here, Safeway/Lucky, usually carry sizable "London Broil/Top Round," that are freshly wrapped, and well dated. While all meats have gone way up in price, recently, these remain economical because I can divide them for several meals. The cut, itself, is also good for several applications. A small piece ... which is plenty for me ... will broil in a fairly short time. Cooked at lower temps, for longer times, it works well with stews, or stroganoff.
I've never ordered it from an independent butcher. My guess is that the advantage of doing that would be that you can request a thickness that is to your liking, for what you want to do. The ones in the markets are plenty thick for anything I've wanted.

Earlier I grilled some cheeseburgers and ate with ghost pepper mustard. For dinner I browned the same beef, threw in seasoning until it tasted like taco meat, and had a taco salad.

Fried chicken sounds good. Yesterday we had roast beef, gravy, mashed potatoes, broccoli and cooked carrots. It was great. Looking forward to today's dinner. This is what I am having with the leftover roast beef and gravy. Got to go to the store to get some french fries.
