I'm going to do a BLT, trying the oven method of cooking bacon. I also have some steamed veggies, left over from last night.
I'm making bacon next weekend and I'm going to cook it in the oven, I used to do it that way and it was good. I'm going to have it with Reser's Main St. Bistro baked scalloped potatoes. Yesterday I made Hormel tamale casserole, I was inspired by a previous post, the recipe was on the side of the can : pour a can of Hormel chili(I used beanless) in the bottom of a small casserole dish, put the tamales on top and sprinkle liberally with Mexican cheese blend cook 30minutes at 350 degrees. WKD went nuts for it.
Oven bacon was, certainly, less messy. And, I loved the way it stays flat. My mistake, last night, was to follow the advice from a video ... and, I can't remember which one ... and place some parchment paper over the bacon. It's unnecessary. The bacon wasn't done to the crispness that I would have liked, when the toast was ready. I removed the paper, and gave it a few more minutes, but the toast was cold.
I'll try it, again. I may use a higher heat (I used 350), and the paper is definitely gone. I like oven bacon.
Tonight, a hamburger and Tater Tots.
Sunshine, thanks for the recipe on "Hamburger/TT casserole." I love Tater Tots, that could be fun.
