takes its clever concept and executes it with aplomb. Great performances from Cruise (playing against type) and Blunt and fantastically edited. This is actually the movie that captures the feel of playing a video game the absolute best and that's a compliment. I remember reading in a review saying this is the type of movie James Cameron would make, yeah if he wasn't obsessed with making Avatar movies for the rest of his life.

I don't know about all that, but it is a good movie.

It's not one of my favorites of the 2010's, but it is quite enjoyable. I'm not big on the ending though.

It's very good, but I wouldn't go quite that far.

I was iffy on it when I saw it in theaters, but found it super cheap on DVD a couple years ago and pounced - glad I did, too.
It was much better upon rewatch and it would definitely make my top 10 best action movies list of the last decade. The CGI holds up better than I expected as well.

Agreed. It's got to be near the top of the sci fi genre for sure.

If I'm not mistaken, I hear it's like a sci-fi/action version of Groundhog Day.

It's my favourite Tom Cruise movie and easily the second best movie of 2014. Were it not for the final 10 minutes, it would have been a perfect viewing experience. No sequels required.

I liked it and Tom Cruise was willing to play the underdog and a useless good for nothing in the film which is usually forbidden in the Cruiseverse movies.

Be nice sooner rather than later.

A prequel on the Angel of Verdun could be entertaining. Be nice sooner rather than later. What is the Angel of Verdun? Emily Blunt is the Angel of Verdun. She got the name after her heroic action during her own rinse and repeat cycle before this film takes place.

It’s a solid film.
But it just goes to show you how crappy the Sci-Fi genre has become. It’s watered down, relying heavily on special effects SFX, VFX etc... mostly reserved for nostalgic franchises like Godzilla or whatever... also, crappy SyFy network trash... or some Superhero Sci-Fi mash up...
So this “Edge of Tomorrow” comes out and it looks like The Godfather in comparison over the last 10 years. In reality, it would be just another action sci-fi flick if it were the 1980s or 1990s.
7/10.

It's pretty decent. I don't think it's the kind of film James Cameron would have made, as you say it feels like a video game.

She got out of the loop when she was wounded but not killed and they gave her a blood transfusion, thus breaking the link between herself and the aliens.
