It’s gone. With nowhere to watch it. Unless of course you own a dvd/blu ray or a digital copy. Which I do!
This is really the future everybody wants? Millions of titles like this will vanish in a streeeeeeaaaaaming only future. Anything with the licensing rights in limbo? Gone. Anything slightly controversial? Gone. Anything less popular and more niche? Gone. And to see everything else you’ll need to pay monthly for like a dozen different services.
People who buy their own copies (physical or digital) can watch this movie tonight if they want to. Streaming subscribers cannot. Something to think about.

It just ended so I assume it will be in the rotation with a bunch of other movies that shift between services or Disney will nab.
Netflix had a streaming deal for Sony animation but not Sony for some reason so at least it didn’t go to Starz.
It’s a cheap purchase though.
The good thing about streaming fragmentation is that we pretty much do know where most things are going within the next two years.

Yeah smaller movies maybe, but big stuff will still most likely get released to theaters. Streaming also means less of a chance to get a physical release. Don’t try to use the HBO Max/theaters same day thing as an excuse either. Legendary was PISSED when they found out WB was doing that. Now studios are looking to Sony to release their movies because of what WB did and truthfully I don’t blame them.

The biggest drawback with physical copies is that how they stop working after sometime. Discs tend to collect dust and scratches, which kind of ruin them and you can't play them properly. Same problem is with the DVD/Blu-ray players, which have poor shelf life. They stop working properly after sometime. I have thrown away my DVD collection and many DVD players as well. I have permanently shifted to streaming and I also watch satellite TV. DVDs and Blu-rays are soon to become obsolete.

I’m just saying the next move is to DVD, and then to a streaming or cable platform. We know where most theatrically released studio films go as most of them have exclusivity deals with one or two platforms.

I still collect DVD’s and Blu-ray’s.Not everyone has good internet. I wish people would stop acting like everyone has great internet.

Is this movie really that amazing or is it likely only massively praised for “representation”?

Digital purchases may do the same thing, but I buy physical Blu-Rays because of the tons of special features. I've whined about this a bunch of times but it is bizarre to me that LOTR Extended versions are not available on HBO Max. That is a purchase only situation. Disney is even worse because they actually have tons of behind the scenes videos on Disney+ that aren't connected to the DVD material So there must still be money to be made on the disc side

I don't have a great internet connection and it gives me problems from time to time. To me, it's still a better option than physical media collecting dust over the years rendering them useless. Everything is HD these days so it really shouldn't be a problem.

Is this movie really that amazing or is it likely only massively praised for “representation”? No it really is THAT GOOD!!! Honestly I had been avoiding this due to the director’s comments on certain issues and Antifa, but I had a gift card that I used for it and it was well spent. The animation, the story, characters everything was really good. I wasn’t too familiar with the Miles Morales character. I wanted to know more about him after this movie and I can’t wait to play his ps5 spiderman game.

I’ve heard stories where people buy something digitally and after a while it’s gone. I keep telling people that you’re paying the service you bought it from. They can always take it away from you and if that company goes under the purchase goes with them. I wish more people understood this. It’s why I keep telling people an all digital future is NOT the way to go.

Is this movie really that amazing or is it likely only massively praised for “representation”? I remember thinking it might be my favorite Spiderman movie after i watched it. But i haven't seen it in a while so Id have to do a rewatch to confirm. I don't think people love it purely for it featuring Miles Morales.

Is this movie really that amazing or is it likely only massively praised for “representation”? It’s a great animated movie. “Representation” has nothing to do with it.

And I wouldn't be able to afford streaming services if my internet was better, anyway... I know several people who are not tech people and wouldn't be able to figure out how to stream videos if their lives depended on it... Thankfully, I found and purchased " Into The Spiderverse" on DVD at the store yesterday... Weren't DVD's supposed to become "Obsolete" about 10 years ago, when Blu-Ray & then 4K came out? Well, they're still making DVD's! So, NO, Physical media isn't going away anytime soon for the rest of us, Mulder and Scully !

They don’t scratch or damage if you’re careful with them. To have access to every movie and show in my collection on streeeeeaaaaming I would need to pay for every service monthly! And STILL not have access to everything! Not an alternative for me.

And it still beats streaming, where anything can be removed at anytime and never resurface.
