the whole "LGBTQIA" is just convenient for them. Obviously they're not giving this too much thought. "Queer" can replace the whole dumb alphabet soup. It covers men, women, homosexuals, bisexuals, trannies, anyone who bucks the heterosexist system.
But I do believe asexuals have no business trying to impose themselves on our struggle. The sexual freedom we fought for is negated by their anti-sexual anti-human anti-love sociopathy. Sorry, I didn't fight for the freedom of those sickos to castrate themselves.
I don't use the word "queer" for myself. It was my dad's dergotary word of choice and it gets under my skin. I suppose some gay people could take the word back and claim it as their own in the same way some black people use the word "nigger", but I am not wired that way. I'm not sure I get you equating asexual with freak. Some people just have a low sex drive. I have a friend who hasn't had sex for 15 years. We've talked about it some and he said he just doesn't have much interest. He's also said that he's channeled his sex drive into a near unprecedented love for music. And I've seen him naked. He has very large balls. Definitely not castrated. I also wonder who decided to include the 'A'? I mean what kind of struggle would somebody who chooses to abstain (or has no sex drive to begin with) be dealing with? Maybe asexuals feel a kind of invisibility? Who knows? But I would be surprised to find out that people who are asexual come up against prejudice and discrimination. Who would care if somebody doesn't have sex? That seems odd.

From inherent sexuality, to wanting to physically change gender, to a derogatory term which implies weird, to being born with both bits, to not even having any sexuality. It proves that if one is not straight, prejudice still runs rife within the heterosexist patriarchal status quo. As per the topic though, how do rights fit in with the hetero cabal?

As often, eloquently and authentically put Mr. Dirty.
If we are to have some straight forced fragmented movement placed upon us, after LGB, the rest will just have to find their own cause that isn't riding off the back of what is just plain and simple sexuality that embraces the sex/gender one is born into, otherwise we "are" being labelled as "Queer" which could be considered demeaning.

dirtypillows, your friend who claims he has no sex drive, is this really true even if not having sex. Does he have to jack off, especially if he has big balls? Would being asexual mean not having the need to sexually rub one out? I would associate asexually more with females too.

If someone has a low sex drive and is not exactly thrilled about sex, that's their hormones and their choice. I'm not even addressing that.
But that is not what is being promulgated when society and hacks in the LGBT movement are asking us to accept asexuality as a valid healthy sexual orientation on par with homosexuality, bisexuality et al.
So really? You're not attracted to males? You're not attracted to females? That's not a sex orientation. That's a sociopathy being passed off as a valid way of life.
Jeezus christ. Love a dog. Love a goddamn door knob. But don't tell me no attraction to other human beings is a valid healthy sexual orientation.

Like I said above, if someone has a low sex drive or doesn't like sex at all, oh well, that's their choice. I'm not criticizing such people.
What galls me is that it's being called a healthy sexual orientation like homosexuality or bisexuality. Sorry, it is not.
"Gay" is also used as a derogatory word and always has been. Now it's fashionable to call something lame or inferior "gay". The arrogance of straight people!
So "gay" or "queer" - it's all a matter of reclaiming our identity and not allowing bigots to keep us down.
"Gay" also refers to only homosexual males. Lesbians and bisexuals seem to eschew the term. "Queer" is more inclusive of the rainbow.

Humans are first and foremost sexual beings, beasts are too on a more primordial instinctual level. Even a blind person has a sexual drive and they would know if they like same or opposite gender.
I agree with your context of how asexuality has been classified, morphed and distorted into fallaciously fitting in with the LGBTQIA... alphabet noodle soup. It is only adding what is contemptuously seen as another sexual disorder into a separate basket away from projected conditioned heterosexual normalcy. If you're not this, you then have to be that.

I don’t see anything wrong with you not accepting asexuality as a sexual orientation but you come across as the type of person you speak out against when it comes to homosexuality. I have seen examples of people who identify as asexual being in relationships and of course asexuals can have other issues (I don’t have to name an obvious name) and I guess Ebony (or Morrisey if you ever meet him) will be able to explain things much better than me. I edited this a lot because I got rather pissed off at first.

Who are these gay people that you're speaking to that DONT want gay rights? I call BS on that too. Its not about wanting to BE married. Its about having the right to do so if you ever wanted to. I personally know many gay people, and fuck yeah they want marriage rights. I'm not stereotyping anybody. I heard them, I listened to them, and I behaved accordingly. You're strange fruit, Gameboy. Strange. Strange fruit? So now come the homophobic slurs from Mister "Some of my best friends are ..." <<< ::you know what I call these?:: Dude, you're a bigot.
So this is exactly my point. I said most gay people support same-sex marriage but don't want to be married. You twist that into this heterosexist idea that we must be married monogamists and practice sexual exclusivity or we are somehow deficient human beings. You want gay clones who ape heterosexuals. Equality is not sameness.
You can say all of your alleged gay friends want to be married. I can show you stats that only 3% do get married in jurisdictions where the state begins trying to enforce this pseudo-religious pantomime of mummy and daddy.
I repeat: Its not about wanting to BE married (or actually doing it). Its about having the right to do so if you ever wanted to.
And I never said equality IS sameness. That's you interpreting something that's not there into what I've said. I strive for equality. What you do with it is your business. So stop trying to twist my words around to make them something they're not. Your failed attempts are showing.

Take the adult population of any jurisdiction where gay marriage is being promulgated by the government. Multiply that by 4% which is a low estimate for the number of exclusive homosexuals in any population. Take the stats for the number of homosexuals who have married since this charade began. It's between 2% and 3% of the total adult gay population. WE DO NOT WANT TO BE MARRIED AND MONOGAMOUS. Tail wag the dog anyone?
It's a top down social experiment enforced by the state.

I like how I have the option to get married if an opportunity presented itself, but it is not something I really care about personally as an institute and what it represents. Who wants to be legally bound to someone and have to be faithful to just one person if one likes to have a variety of sexual trysts. It even doesn't work out for many hets.

Would being asexual mean not having the need to sexually rub one out? I would associate asexually more with females too. I guess I was misleading. My friend said that he has no interest in having sex, including masturbation, though he said that he still has wet dreams once in a while. So i guess that speaks to having a sex drive. Not sure that this has anything to do with it, but he has Aspergers. He's high functioning and very bright and interesting, just a bit socially awkward.
