dirtypillows , your friend who claims he has no sex drive, is this really true even if not having sex. Does he have to jack off, especially if he has big balls? Would being asexual mean not having the need to sexually rub one out? I would associate asexually more with females too. I guess I was misleading. My friend said that he has no interest in having sex, including masturbation, though he said that he still has wet dreams once in a while. So i guess that speaks to having a sex drive. Not sure that this has anything to do with it, but he has Aspergers. He's high functioning and very bright and interesting, just a bit socially awkward. Sex is not for everyone, because it also needs to allow for an uninhibited personality and even non-judgemental foolish disposition. There is absurdity to found behind sexual activity and it also has to be a fun and giving experience to be enjoyable. If one feels awkward and uncomfortable, then that is understandable as well. Men and woman will also approach it differently. Same sex will approach it with more connection.

I've posted it many times using Canada as an example. But you can do it yourself.
Take the adult population of any jurisdiction where gay marriage is being promulgated by the government. Multiply that by 4% which is a low estimate for the number of exclusive homosexuals in any population. Take the stats for the number of homosexuals who have married since this charade began. It's between 2% and 3% of the total adult gay population. WE DO NOT WANT TO BE MARRIED AND MONOGAMOUS. Tail wag the dog anyone?
It's a top down social experiment enforced by the state.
I like how I have the option to get married if an opportunity presented itself, but it is not something I really care about personally as an institute and what it represents. Who wants to be legally bound to someone and have to be faithful to just one person if one likes to have a variety of sexual trysts. It even doesn't work out for many hets. I personally have never known a gay couple who have any interest in marriage. It's basically a snare.
I and my partner are in a committed relationship. We intend to stay together for the rest of our lives. We've drawn up contracts to make sure in event we split up, assets are distributed fairly.
But I have also been very honest with my partner and I've told him I cannot guarantee sexual exclusivity forever. A one time dalliance is not out of the question. Nor should it ever be. Males are by nature promiscuous. Heterosexual marriage is primarily for the benefit of mothers and their children. Sex can be separate from love. I thought that was part of this sexual revolution which shook the world?
What they don't tell gay fools about marriage law is that it does indeed require monogamy and sexual exclusivity. If you stray outside of your "marriage" just once, you can be sued for divorce and half your assets can be seized by your aggrieved partner. This scam is not without snares which may come back and bite you in the ass.

Nobody has to get married just because it's an option. I wouldn't advocate forcing it or preventing it. Nothing more, nothing less. I personally feel the entire institute of marriage needs to be redefined and what is should entail and represent legally, because from my own observation, so many hets place so much stead on their sham marriages as though it is such an important thing in their lives and the only thing that is supposed to mean something in a hypocritical heterosexist society. My parents in particular. I of course am never on their rigid wavelength and just pity them at times.

But that is not what is being promulgated when society and hacks in the LGBT movement are asking us to accept asexuality as a valid healthy sexual orientation on par with homosexuality, bisexuality et al.
