Australian actress Dinah Shearing has left us at the age of 93 or 95, on June 14th. Mainly active in theatre and television, she appeared in Australia's earliest TV dramas. American television executive and producer Norman S. Powell has left us at the age of 86, on June 16th. He was the son of actress Joan Blondell and cinematographer George Barnes, he was adopted by his mother's second husband, Dick Powell in 1938 under the name Norman Scott Powell. He earned two Emmy nominations for producing the 1977 ABC miniseries Washington Behind Closed Doors and for guiding the second season 2002-03 of the Fox drama 24, starring Kiefer Sutherland. He worked as a production manager starting in the late 1950's on such TV Westerns as Wanted: Dead or Alive, Gunsmoke and The Rifleman. He produced the award-winning documentary Brothers at War 2009 with director/producer Jake Rademacher and executive producers Gary Sinise and David Scantling. American actress Joanne Linville has left us at the age of 93, on June 20th. She acted in over 80 movie and television productions between 1950 and 2016. She and actress Irene Gilbert co-founded the Stella Adler Academy in Los Angeles in 1985. Among her movie credits are The Goddess 1958, Scorpio 1973, Gable and Lombard 1976, A Star Is Born 1976, The Seduction 1982 and James Dean 2001. She acted in a few British movies and TV-episodes, but retired from both singing and acting 1958 when she married land speed world record holder William Campbell. English actress Jackie Lane has left us at the age of 79, on June 23rd. Perhaps best known for her role as Dodo Chaplet, a companion of the Doctor, in the BBC science fiction television series Doctor Who. She played the part from February to July 1966 alongside William Hartnell as the Doctor, and for the role of Rosemary Gray in the early BBC soap opera Compact in 1963. After leaving Doctor Who, Lane became a theatrical agent, representing Tom Baker, who would play the Fourth Doctor, and Janet Fielding, who would play companion Tegan Jovanka and managed Nicholas Courtney. The agency which she managed was Jackie Lane Ad Voice. She is remembered by Metro UKR.I.P. Jackie Lane

Barbados-born British film director, producer, educator, and writer Menelik Shabazz has left us at the age of 67, on June 28th. He was acknowledged as a pioneer in the development of independent Black British cinema, having been at the forefront of contemporary British filmmaking for more than 30 years. He is best known for the 1981 film Burning an Illusion, his first feature. He was also co-founder in the 1980's of Kuumba film production company and Ceddo Film and Video Workshop, as well as being "founding father of the BFM media project" as the publisher of Black Filmmaker Magazine (BFM) and creator of BFM International Film Festival. German-American singer and actor Bill Ramsey has left us at the age of 90, on July 2nd. Due to the Korean War, compulsory military service was again introduced in the USA and Bill Ramsey served with the U.S. Air Force in Germany. Singing in clubs, discovered by AFN (American Forces Network), entertaining the troops, after discharge in 1958, he was contacted by German record companies. He established himself as a popular singer, that lead to appearing in movies, first as a singer and later in acting roles, including Old Shatterhand 1964. He is remembered by PNP DER.I.P. Bill Ramsey

American director and producer Richard Donner has left us at the age of 91, on July 5th. Started directing TV-episodes in 1960 and later made-for-TV movies in the 1970's. After directing the horror film The Omen 1976, he directed the superhero film, Superman 1978, starring Christopher Reeve. He later went on to direct movies such as The Goonies 1985 and Scrooged 1988, while reinvigorating the buddy film genre with the Lethal Weapon film series 1987, 1989, 1992 and 1998. He and his wife, producer Lauren Shuler Donner, owned the production company The Donners' Company (formerly Donner/Shuler Donner Productions), best known for producing the Free Willy and X-Men franchises. In 2000, he received the President's Award from the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films.
