I'm sorry, was I quoting you in that post? Too bad you didn't did a degree in "I wasn't addressing you." I don't know what they teach in Mathematical Logic, but apparently logical fallacies aren't part of the curriculum.

When I first joined IMDb it was to post on the Evangelion boards. Never planned on posting outside them so the moniker made sense, but I eventually did start posting outside that forum and only then did I realize the problem, but everyone knows me by that now so I've stuck with it. Yojimbo is also taken from a film by one of my favorite directors and means "Bodyguard" in Japanese.

Interested to see if you can solve it given your math background: ***** PROBLEM: Say you're given a hairy bag with ten balls in it. You reach in and pull out a blue ball. You're told that one of four things is possible: a. The bag only has blue balls in them. b. The bag only has blue and red balls in equal amounts. c. The bag has two blue balls, two red balls, two green balls, two yellow balls, and two purple balls. d. The bag has one blue ball and nine variously-colored balls. Questions: 1. Is one bag more probable than the other? 2. If one bag is more probable than the others, what is the probability it's that bag? |

“To Kill a Mockingbird” is being banned. It is a book about the injustices inflicted on black people and the white lawyer (and children, friends) heartbroken about what happened to a totally innocent black man. Banned. Uh no, it's banned from certain schools (many in conservative areas BTW), but there's no real push to ban the book in general (which is the lie you're trying to push).

Mathematical logic isn't really the "logic" that people are referring to here, they're refering to making sound, reasonable arguments and not use things like ad homs, strawmans, pivots, and arguments from ad pop. And if anyone is harmed over this they're over sensitive snowflakes.

I would actually expect an argument explaining why the person is wrong. But of course, that's expecting way too much from you.
