Columbo tells this joke: "A flasher in a trenchcoat is walking down the street and flashes himself at this older Jewish woman (why Jewish?). She says: You call that a lining?" The suspect C. tells it to is laughing his head off. It is either a rather poor joke (she overlooks the obvious) or I'm really missing some point? I have even considered the phonetic match of "a lining" and "aligning" but came to no conclusion. Anybody?

She's focusing on the lining for the coat, she is unimpressed with his nakedness.
