I guess she’s usually classified as a Regency romance novelist but she’s also quite funny and full of historical information.

I have several of her books. Her ratings on Goodreads are impressive.

I have a lot of them and I had a lot more, but I had to give away some because I didn't have enough room for all of them. It was hard trying to pick my favourites. I like to think of her as Jane Austen lite.

My sister had a shelf full of her books when I was a kid.

I’m not a romance reader, but I do like historical novels and mysteries. Mystery critic Mike Grost recommends her historical The Talisman Ring (1936), which seems like my sort of thing.

Georgette Heyer, now there's a blast from the past. I never read any of her historical romances but she was a pretty good (but not great) mystery writer as demonstrated in a handful of novels of which I read a few back in the dark days of the 1970s. Two I remember reading because their titles come from Shakespeare are "Behold Here's Poison" (1936) from Pericles and "Envious Casca" (1941) from Julius Caesar.
