The Steelers are sitting most key players anyhow.

Other teams with decimated rosters have struggled in 2020. It's no excuse, just reality for a team to tackle head on.

I reject hyperbole. The Indianapolis Colts had a huge lead then folded like a sack of shit against the Steelers last weekend. Doesn't make the Colts shit overnight. Apparently to some, Bill Belichick's now a crap coach. I like the Browns more this year because they respect their opposition and move "on to Cincinnati", rather than dining out on Freddie Kitchens' smelly nothingburgers ... any given Sunday.

That was against two-time Super Bowl champion Ben Roethlisberger!

Fun Fact -
Baker Mayfield needs 133 yards to join Andrew Luck and Peyton Manning as the only players in NFL history with at least 3,500 passing yards and 20 touchdowns in their first three seasons.

Cleveland Browns lose Denzel Ward, Karl Joseph, Andrew Sendejo and Malcolm Smith to injured / covid reserve. When it rains it pours, but challenge is what it's all about. Let's go! The receivers will be back, though, right. I think the 5 inactive Browns receivers will now all be eligible again. The team has been virtual training with the facility closed and only 2 coaches have been quarantined so far to the best of my knowledge - Bill Callahan and Scott Peters.
I'm reading New York Jets are sending over reserve G Blake Hance to join the players from Cleveland's practise squad on the main roster?
I've heard about 4 Steelers apparently not starting against the Browns. QB Mason Rudolph, has he won more games than he's lost in the NFL? I've read this week he's 5 -3 as a starter. Never struck me as being the worst back-up in the league, I certainly hope the Browns take the threat he poses seriously, especially with their problems in the secondary. I know there are Bears fans, Ravens fans, Texans fans on football tweet-ins all this week who see their divisional match-ups in much the same way; as straight shoot-outs that'll be tough, based on recent history alone, regardless of who's been playing in these intensely physical, divisional rivalry games.
"Mike Tomlin and Kevin Colbert don't quite see it that way ... Mason Rudolph spent his rookie season sitting behind Ben Roethlisberger, having not played a meaningful snap. Fast-forward to week two of 2019, where a likely nervous Rudolph trotted on the field to replace an injured Roethlisberger. From that moment until Earl Thomas launched himself to Rudolph's chin and concussed him, Rudolph played considerably well. Through that stretch of time (four weeks), Rudolph's numbers were as followed:
66.45% completion percentage
7-2 touchdown to interception ratio
99.65 passer rating
Sacked three times in four games
Although he held a 1-3 record over that span (including both games he entered/exited without completing a full game), his three losses were all against playoff teams: Baltimore, Seattle and San Francisco. His lone win? A 27-3 victory of Cincinnati that saw Rudolph go 24/28, 229 yards and 2 touchdowns. Following his return, Rudolph led the Steelers to three straight wins before the disastrous primetime performance on Thursday night in Cleveland. While the three game win streak was more-so spurred by defensive heroics rather than Rudolph's modest performances during that stretch, the team still found success under his direction. The rest of the season was spent behind Hodges before eventually replacing him against the Jets before his shoulder injury. Rudolph's 2019 campaign was essentially the definition of roller coaster: Up and down. There were instances where Rudolph didn't show any signs of inexperience, and other instances where he was simply trying to do too much. Should you remove the two week stretch starting in late November where Rudolph played his worst against the Browns and Bengals, his 2019 season could be considered successful. However, you can't simply hand-pick two games to remove from Rudolph's evaluation. This is professional football played at the highest level on this planet, not a salad bar where one can pick and choose what they like.
This brings us back to our original question: Why the optimism around Rudolph?"
- Donnie Druin, All Steelers
It was reportered earlier in the week that the Browns could be without tight end Harrison Bryant. I'm not sure about BJ Goodson's current status.
"King of the Doink", kicker Cody Parkey says he's fully activated and ready to take care of business.
I also do agree with the earlier premise - a team's season record doesn't lie and of course they don't deserve to make the playoffs if they don't make the playoffs. I'm just anxious, as I'm sure many fans are around the league, and I don't think it's unfair to mention some of the issues in Cuyahoga County where covid is reportedly surging - or that other teams struggled when they were hit hard, including the Baltimore Ravens who are looking much stronger now they've gotten top players back.
Can't wait for the big game, I think they are screening it live on SKY here in the UK !

Well, the Steelers are being called "easy" opponents by some people because they will apparently have 4 players rested, have had reportedly good preparations, and have little-to-no pressure going into this game (outside seedings) ... yet the Browns have had hardly any on-field practise, they have half a dozen players coming back while half a dozen or more exit stage right, and they-re two coaches down, yet some people online act like they should waltz over the Steelers who destroyed them earlier in the season. I agree 100% they deserve to miss the playoffs if they don't make the playoffs, but other teams got talked about this season when they were decimated by covid and it's not unreasonable to mention that the Browns have plenty of issues going into this game too, that's just reality and anybody that doesn't believe that should look at the Baltimore Ravens' record across the season and why they're fighting to reach the playoffs on the final game of the regular season.
That's why I'm all in with Coach Stefanski when he says to Baker, shut all that shit out and play your game, and remember, it's just another game ...
I think there's a bunch of tight games to call today, could be one of the great days play in the NFL. How about Maimi playing in-form Buffalo? I even think the Bengals can give the Ravens some trouble if they play the style of hard-nosed, smash-mouth football that took down a faultering Steelers recently.
Let's play football!!
