My sister and her husband make maple syrup from their trees. Itβs fantastic. I hope most people know that the cans you buy in grocery stores are not pure maple.

Catdad used to tap the trees on some rural land he owned. Boiled it down over a wood fire until the volume was down to several gallons then brought it home to finish the boil on an electric stove.

We had a maple tree growing up. Never thought to tap it - likely too thin. Did climb it quite a few times. Would hide up there.

My husband just informed me it has to be a Sugar maple not the kind my neighbor has.
Now I'm all sad.
