Completely forgot about June Diane Raphael. I think she's one of the more underrated comic actresses working today as well.

Blanche Ravalec as Dolly in Moonraker (1979)As a kid, Jaws (Richard Kiehl) were always my favorite Bond villain, and I loved seeing him return in Moonraker, and in a more friendlier part, where they also decided to write him a cute and bubbly romantic interest, in Dolly. Who I felt was way more cute and fun, than the rather "grumpy" Lois Chiles.

I’ve been wondering how to respond to this because I’m just not sure what counts for unconventional beauty. And I don’t want to be unchivalrous to anyone. That said, here are a few choices. First up is Kay Francis. I don’t think I’d consider her a stunning beauty, but I’ve always found her very attractive, mostly for how she presents herself in movies. And, er, I caught a few minutes of Now, Voyager the other day and was reminded that I find young Bette Davis kinda cute—yes, yes, yes. Ha-ha. But still: Mae Clarke, another girl who may not win a modeling contest but whom I find attractive: January Jones isn’t an unconventional choice at all, but I don’t think I’ve seen her receive her due. In my opinion she’s strikingly beautiful: As with Jones, I don’t think the next two are unconventional, but I do think they’re exceptionally beautiful: Ruth Peterson, unfortunately only a bit player in Charlie Chan in Paris, and Laraine Day, who had a good career that wasn’t quite as great as she deserved. Well, that’s a lot of choices. Apt for Valentine’s Day, I suppose!

Haha I saw your name in the thread and I was going to post a comment "well that girl in Charlie Chan in Paris who wasn't good-looking enough to be the lead..."

Nalkarj Young Bette was quite the looker. Hubba. Hubba. Later, her face got character, making her an unconventional beauty.

Agreed with you on Bette, mikef6. Hubba hubba indeed—especially for that picture! Thing is, Prime etc., I think Ruth was much more attractive than the lead—and I don’t really know why she didn’t get the part (or any major parts, for that matter, judging from her filmography). Oh, and Maureen O’Sullivan was absolutely adorable, Feologild Oakes. She’s amazingly cute in The Thin Man.

Glancing at that new Cruella de Vil movie trailer (ugh) reminded me that I find Emma Stone attractive—though, again, I don’t think she’s an unconventional choice. She’s particularly adorable in Woody Allen’s magical Magic in the Moonlight: And, while we’re on the topic of redheads (weren’t we?), petrolino drew Jane Levy to my attention the other day. In addition to her obvious beauty, she looks a bit like Myrna Loy, I think (though, again, I can’t imagine anyone not finding both of them “cute/sexy/attractive”).
