She’s not very “innocent” in BvS, which is when she made her debut. Also, who cares about the accent? Wonder Woman doesn’t need to sound American. She had to be made that way to actually do her own movie though, that is the point. Whether you care about the accent or not it still happened for that reason. I mean, Professor X isn’t actually British in the comics, but he’s British in the movies, just because he’s played by Patrick Stewart. No, I’m not saying that Gal Gadot is as good an actor as Patrick Stewart, but I don’t see what difference it makes that they kept her accent as Wonder Woman. The accent isn’t important.

She was made more badass and warriorlike instead of the campier Linda Carter version? Seriously though, most roles will be influenced at least a tiny bit by what the actor brings to the role. That doesn't mean that the casting was wrong though. As I said before, I have many complaints about Snyder but casting choices is usually not one of them. He doesn't always make perfect casting choices of course, but for the most part his casting is pretty solid. After all, Cavill as Superman, Gadot as Wonder Woman, Momoa as Aquaman, Traue as Faora, Butler as Leonidas, that whole cast of Sucker Punch.... all pretty solid. You're not going to get anywhere going after Lynda Carter. But yeah if you love wooden actors playing flat characters you will love Snyder films. Flat characters - yes, Snyder does have a penchant of writing flat characters. But the actors themselves aren't wooden, at least not if given a proper role to play. Which brings me back to my original point: Snyder has a lot of issues (like writing one-dimensional characters) but casting choice is usually not one of them.
