I think the overreaction of how we’ve never seen a day this horrible is a little dramatic...given we’ve had a literal civil war....but overall I’m just kind of amused. Riots have become a kind of expected thing lately. Every time they happen I know my rent is due.

Reminds me of the storming of the Winter Palace in St. Petersburg in 1917. Damn, I didn’t realize you were that old. I was there, screaming "All power to the Soviets". Did 15 years in the Gulags later
I wasn't around for the storming of the Bastille though

Not really. I worry about all the civil unrest
It's 2 weeks away
I worry about how Trump and his supporters behave - also worry about possible retaliation
Just unsettled chaos
This is just further dividing our country

I guess part of me always assumes I’ll wind up eating hot dogs off a rusty grate over a fire barrel under a bridge in the middle of winter...so I don’t worry too much. |

And if I gathered 500 people to storm the US capitol while congress was in session, I'd expect to be shot. How do you know the protesters aren't armed? What if one of them is wearing a suicide vest? I cannot believe this happened. We're lucky we still have a functioning government.

America is an imperfect place built on a perfect principle, therefore unfortunately there will be days like this. I can totally understand why so many are upset by what the Trump supporters are doing, but in all honesty stuff like this is kind of what makes this country so unique and wonderful. Hundreds of businesses destroyed, hundreds out of work, billions in damage but a few people storming the capitol building is the worst thing we've ever seen in America... lol....
