If this was China, all of those people would be shot dead by now. From the sound of this thread, it seems like a lot of you would be fine with that. Maybe you guys would be happier in China, or if we were a bit more like those nice folks? Freedom ain't easy, kids, and it don't come for free either. Your statement demonstrates that you support criminal activities organized by Donald Trump and his tinker supporters. You could have easily said that you condemned this attack on democracy and but you evaded.

Ah.
Got it now
You're nuts
Good Day
Don't go, I'm kidding about the Reichstag stuff. But isn't it funny that no one in our government made any speeches about the riots we saw after Floyd died? Hundreds of businesses destroyed, hundreds out of work, billions in damage but a few people storming the capitol building is the worst thing we've ever seen in America... lol.... What a fucking joke.... Anyhow, I assume that you saw Biden's speech today? Everybody including myself was up in arms over the riots
They were inexcusable
We had countless posts even on this board with pretty much everybody denouncing the behavior besides Father Jack who sadly is no longer with us
And yes - today was an incredibly sad day in American History

Yeah, 2.0 members didn't have anything good to say about the riots but what we say in here doesn't matter that much, it's such a small percentage of people that come in here. I'd like to hear a politician came out as strong against the riots as they're doing for those that are storming the CB. Instead, they kneeled before it and said "America bad, protestors good". I suppose when they feel like their lives and/or livelihoods are in jeopardy, they're say something.
One of Biden's quotes did strike me as a bit odd... "this is an assault on the rule of law".
Well, no shit, so were the riots.
To be honest, I'm NOT much of a fan of democrat policies and their way of thinking. All this bending the knee, PC garbage, social changes, giving tax payer money to other nations, open borders etc..etc.. doesn't sit very well with me.
Although, I really don't like Trump that much either. I'm certainly not going down any rabbit hole with him but I agree with many of his ideas about this nation and where it's headed. The fact is, a lot of people just don't trust the government now days. Or perhaps its always been like this and Trump was able to tap into the types that are "skeptical" about the going ons in Washington.
However, I wouldn't say this is a "incredibly sad day in the America". Watching all those businesses destroyed (many of them black owned businesses) was much sadder to watch. Hell, the 9/11 attack was perhaps the saddest day of all in our nation's history. The truth is, the gov has to do a better job and stop blaming America for everything.

My very first reaction was at least America's civil cold war simmering, boiling over has now passed. Those in power, real lawmaking power who stoke & enable this inhuman activity, should finally shape the fuck up. With this blood stained disgrace of a day forever etched in her history, more Americans should stop taking her democracy for granted. Democracy is not a game. It's fragile & demands active participation & civil respect of laws.

Better the Capitol get destroyed than hundreds of small businesses whose owners had absolutely nothing to do with what caused the tension to begin with. Once you start destroying property, you lose me, but at least these rioters went after the institution that they feel did them wrong.

Once you start destroying property, you lose me, but at least these rioters went after the institution that they feel did them wrong. I'm completely flabbergasted by this line of thinking by some
'Better the Capitol get destroyed than hundreds of small businesses.....'
Because somebody feels that they were done wrong in life - that condones destruction and utter chaos and they get a pass?
Why must any property - whether it be a private business, a federal building or national monument be destroyed via any protest?
Any destruction of private property should not be tolerated under any circumstance
Nobody is condoning what happened to business owners during the George Floyd riots - 99.9% of the population is on the same page - it was abhorrent despicable behavior. There was 0 excuse for the violence, robbing, looting.
I don't see a parallel in anyway how the George Floyd riots should be used as a measuring stick on what is an is not OK to attack and vandalize
It's almost as if a portion of the population is stating, 'Well it was OK to destroy businesses during the George Floyd riots so this is OK too'

We know you say that but in practise it's the contrary. You said a while back ago that you were pro life but supported abortion in cases of rape/incest, but I know you're perfectly content with strict anti-abortion laws like the moronic heartbeat bill imposed by religious freaks that you support. You were a weasel in the old boards just like you are now. You couldn't be a man and call a spade a spade. These thugs nearly committed murder and you find that reasonable. I'm also confident that you are fine with the inflammatory rhetoric perpetuated by anti abortion providers from organisations like LifeSite News. The same rhetoric that has led to bombings, shootings and vandalism by Pro Life freaks of your ilk.

Biden condemned the rioting last year. And nobody on this board was openly celebrating destruction of public and private property the way some people on this board are celebrating this attack on democracy. And that's what this is, whether you want to admit it or not. All summer long, the same people on this board were calling protestors rioters and terrorists, and calling for heavy police involvement. "The radical left" was the real threat to democracy. Now that radical right wingers have literally stormed the US Capitol in an effort to subvert democracy, it's just people standing up for themselves. Nothing to see here. Just like the rioters themselves, who three months ago would've cited 'supporting the police' as one of their reasons for voting Trump, were now lined up screaming at police and calling them traitors-- for protecting our democracy from the lunatic fringe. The hypocrisy truly knows no bounds. I'm trying to imagine the conservative reaction (in general as well as on this board) had Trump won the election and it was BLM or some other left leaning group leading the charge on the Capitol yesterday. Oh, boy. The riots of the summer were terrible for America, not only for those they directly affected, but for the psyche of the nation itself. This is far, far worse. This is an attack on the very heart of our republic, both functionally and symbolically. There's a reason terrorists didn't fly planes into a Target or Joe's coffee shop. Centers of trade and government, landmarks that symbolize our culture have a greater impact than the destruction of a city block ever could. (And in case I need to repeat it, both instances are unacceptable.) What these crackpots did yesterday weakened our republic on so many levels. They showed enemies of the state (both foreign and domestic) how easy it would be to completely destroy our infrastructure. How many terrorists, hostile governments and basement nut jobs are kicking themselves today, wishing they had thought of this? "All we needed was a group of people wearing MAGA hats and waving flags, and they'll just let us walk into the Capitol during a congressional session with who knows how many weapons and IEDs?" I want to praise the security detail for their incredible restraint, but truthfully I cannot. The lives they put at risk, in the short term and long; the stakes are too high. In the chaos of the evacuation, computers were left on, email accounts left open. Sensitive material available for anyone to leak, or sell to the highest bidder. In theory, the risk should be low, but it's just another example of how incredibly dangerous this situation was, and it remains a major national security threat. Motive. BLM and the related protests, some of which progressed into riots-- some of which intentionally incited by agents of chaos on the other side-- were touched off by the execution of a black man in full view of a crowd of people. At that time the most recent event in a recurring theme of police brutality and systemic racism in America. Rioting and destruction should never be the answer, but you can understand why some people felt pushed to the brink of reason when they feel as if the oppression is going to crush them at any time. Yesterday's insanity was incited by one lunatic, and carried about by (from what I could see of the coverage) a mob of possibly the least oppressed segment of humanity in history-- American Caucasians of the late 20th to early 21st centuries. Literally nobody has ever had it better than us, but we're mad as hell and we aren't going to take it anymore. They weren't being casually killed in the street by police; their guy lost an election. And he whined, and he tried to cheat and steal it away, and when all that failed, he attended a rally yesterday and told his supporters to march on the Capitol, and that "You'll never take back our country with weakness, you have to show strength." What did he think a crowd of people featuring guy in face paint dressed like a buffalo were going to do? He knew exactly what they would do. “Big protest in DC on January 6th. Be there, will be wild!” Just the latest disgusting display by a complete sociopath with no regard for civility, democracy or humanity; and the latest example of his followers being so far out of touch with reality that they believe the way you show patriotism is trying to subvert democracy after an election doesn't go their way, and kicking out windows at the Capitol building. As an US citizen, I'm sickened by what I saw yesterday. If you complained about rioters this summer, yet are applauding yesterday's events, you have no place in a serious discussion about politics or social issues.

I don't condone it. In fact, I don't agree with doing this at all. But this is what happens when you dish out 4 years of conspiracies against a duly elected president. Trump is a very powerful man, he could get hordes of his supporters to storm any govermnet building in the country if he wanted to. Let's just be glad he told his supporters to "go home" yesterday.
The fact is, The media chose to stroke the flames of division against Trump and this is the result. But will the media learn anything from this?? Doubtful.... it will always be "Trump bad, Liberal media goooood" with no gray area in between.
Then you're not paying attention -
Here's a few that actually downplayed it or in some ways, supported it -
Granted, many of these peeps are not mainstream everyday politicians but then again, this is the only image I remember from the mainstream democrats -
