You blink your lights for that. Flashing brights is for telling someone to turn theirs off.

For whatever reason, I've been noticing lately a lot of people driving in town with their brights on. I'll bet I've flashed 20 or so of them over the past couple of months. It worked once.

I... STILL?...
1.) Turn my headlights OFF, and then ON again, to let drivers know that they are driving down the road in the dark with their headlights OFF...
I guess they don't realize that their headlights are off, when they just have their dash lights/marker lights on?
2.) Flash my Highbeams, when an oncoming driver has their Highbeams on and it is blinding my vision.
What's really startling, is to find out that they did NOT have their Highbeams on... They just have extra bright headlights... and then they Flashed their Highbeams at me... Yow.
Seriously, some Headlights being used today, are almost too bright... especially those blue tinted ones.
Either that, or their lights are angled wrong... They should be pointed at the ground, not at my face. LOL!

I don't for a police car, because the majority of the time-police don't stop speeders. Unless they're going over 100, then they deserve to get a ticket. I do if the idiot has their highs on coming toward me, or are behind me. Eeeeshh....every single time I drive, it's dark. And there's always some asswipe like that.

Very rarely.
And, I agree with admin - I use them only to get someone to turn theirs down.
Amusing story about flashing high beams, though:
Coming back from a hockey game, it was at about 11:00 at night. I was at a stoplight. Across the intersection was a car with no headlights on. Of course, I flash my high beams - just as an indication to turn their lights on.
Light turns green, and I physically roll down my window and yell out to the driver, "TURN YOUR LIGHTS ON!!"
They did.

Very popular in Ireland during the Troubles. Irish people would flash their lights to inform people about the RUC pigs. Not so much nowadays buy I've seen it happen in Nationalist areas.
