I remember that guy, big tall dude. He could throw the ball well, but was wild on his throws. Playing with the Bucs in the 80's wasn't an easy task.

millar70 TheGoodMan19 there's scant info on the guy on the interwebs. really weird. it's like he vanished....  anyway, the game vs. oregon was really fun to watch. the original broadcast had keith jackson on abc and the ducks back then were pulling all sorts of shenanigans, flea flickers, end-arounds....

The thing I remember about Thompson is that a lot of people wanted the Bills to draft him 1st overall in the 1979 Draft instead of Tom Cousineau. Especially after Cousineau went to the CFL and never played for the Bills. When Cousineau came back across the border, the Bills traded him to Cleveland for a 1st round pick in 1983. that pick, Miami QB Jim Kelly. Kelly did turn out a bit better than Thompson. Also that he could never get past Bengals QB Ken Anderson, one of those QB who got better as he got older.
